I've had the power steering pump replaced in my view, but it still is failing when I'm turning at low speeds. Does anyone know why this is happening because my mechanic sure doesn't.
Your vechicle has the electronic power steering.which is controlled by power steering module the power steering module receive information from the torque sensors in steering wheel and vechicle speed sensor.when speeds are slowest the steering input that tracks the amount of power assist.THIS TYPE POWER STEERING UNIT DEALERSHIP FIX NEED DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT TO WORK ON THEM.
This answer is incorrect. 2008 Saturn Vue only have Hydaulic Power Steering not electric.
You are incirrect. We have an 08 Saturn Vue and it most certainly does have an electric steering assist motor. There is no power steering fluid reservoir in our particular model (2.4 litre I-4 cylinder FWD).

Yes could be a couple things, first ,the power steering belt, was it replaced, old belt could have a hard smooth glaze and slip,or the belt need to be tighten, your fluid level could be too low,but something I learnt working on Mack truck's a long time ago, when I replace the power steering pump,no matter what vehicle, before I start the engine I always lift both front tire's off the ground, and turn the steering wheel all the way from one side to the other slowly,(but do make sure the unit is full of fluid before trying this)and when it comes to the end, hold it there for five or ten seconds before turning the wheel the other way, then check the fluid level and do this a couple more times, this will remove any air that could be trapped in the system, because your power steering pump is really just a hydraulic pump, and air can damage a pump fast, and I have found when I do this before starting the engine,I never hear the new pump growl, that growl is the air in your system being pumped with the fluid,I can honestly say if you do this your car will turn like you want it to,unless someone has changed the pulley size of the pump

Yup. The throttle body connectors have a history of failing on these cars. Replace the throttle body and the wire connectors that go to it, and you're back in business. Not terribly difficult and you can get the parts from any dealer. Saturn actually has a bulletin out on this problem but they won't cover it unless you're under warranty - no recall for this.
