It is a 95 ford Taurus gl 3.0 liter 6 cy. with appx. 110,00o miles. The car runs and shifts fine. Loses about a quarter to a half quart a week.
SOURCE: transmisson question
Front pump may have gone bad. Check the transmission fluid level when the engine is not running, then check it again with the engine running. If the level stayed the same, the transmission pump may not be working which is causing your problem. Good luck and keep me posted. The other thing to that may have happened is the trans axle may have broke in the transmission causing the no forward or revers. Good luck and hope this helps.

transmission oil expands when it becomes hot so and is equipped with an overflow ...as for it leaking the pan itself is noted for rusting and even a pinhole or many will cause it to leak
SOURCE: oil leak about the size of a quarter on ground -
Check around your rocker cobver and around the engine for oil leaking down over. it is possible that its just oil sat in the catch tray under the car leaking now and then. I would expect after 2-3 weeks though that all this would be gone.
I always pressure wash the oil leaked area and then when it starts again you have a better idea where it came from.

many times hard to find trans. leaks come from the front trans. seal being worn the leak is mainly leaking down inside the flywheel/converter area and drip down to the lowest point.
Also the trans. pan gaskets have a tendency to wear causing a leak as well as a rear seal... if you cant find it take it to a trans shop and they will add a dye to the fluid ask you to drive a few days and come back so they can put a leak detector black light on the trans. in order to find the leak. This is best done in a shop and on a lift.

To all who responded: Thank you everyone. The problem turned out to be very minor. The bolts that hold the pan in place were loose. All it took was a tightening. And my brother did this for me. It is scary to go to a garage, being a woman. Not all, but mechanics like to take advantage of us ladies. So thanks again all. Peace!
Thank you everyone for responding. Problem fixed. Bolts were loose on the oil pan. No even a drip now.
