Gear shift Selector stuck

These were known for having faulty brake light switche that would cause that problem as well as cruise control inop. I would check that first. It operates the shift-lock solenoid which releases the shifter. There were also some problems with the ignition switches, but mostly on the gm cars.

2009 Avalanche cruise control will not engage. the light comes on in the steering wheel

Not sure on the throttle position sensor issue but the no cruise control issue can often be the brake switch. Very, very common. Switch is relatively cheap and it is easy to replace.

2005 Chevy Avalanche - The truck is in park, shut off, and the keys out. The brake lights are staying on. What do I need to do to get them to turn off?

There should be a brake light switch under the drivers side mounted on the brake pedal it may have broke or come out of adjustment in any case you could push the switch in by hand and tape it as to not drain your battery until you can get a replacement part for it if indeed it needs to be replaced otherwise it may just need to be adjusted.

All brake lights not working. Fuses, bulbs good. Don't know how to change the brake switch.

the brake light switch is actually underneath the brake pedal itself, you just have to loosten and unplug it and, replace with a new one

Looking how to get the brake switch out of my 2004 avalanche or maybe even how to adjust it. I have lost my cruise and my brake lights do not come on

It should be under the dash near the top of the brake pedal arm. You can adjust it so the button on the switch releases when you push the brake pedal. They used to screw in and out to adjust.

Good luck.

Brake lights

probably the switch at the top of the pedal is already defective. that switch turns on the brake lights when you depress the pedal. you may have to just replace that switch.
