I have a 1999 Audi A4 and my boyfriend lost the key last night, is there anyway I could disarm the alarm? It is parked in a different city with the passenger window rolled all the way down and somebody already stole Versace sunglasses that were sitting on the dashboard. Somebody please help!!! I just bought it and would like to bring it back home asap

I'm sorry about that but dont you have a spare key ? The only thig I can think off is to contact Audi ASAP and give them you details and vin number and for a fee they should supply a temp key like the bmw and if that takes too long, Tow it home and report it to the cops.

SOURCE: i have an audi a4

This is a common problem with your shape A4, pre 2001 A4s and old shape A6s. Rain water builds up in the area under the bonnet where your battery is. This can be accessed by removing the long black trim under the windscreen covering the battery. This area has two drain holes with small rubber tubes on it, these tubes get blocked over time by leaves, dirt etc. They need to be unblocked, and the tubes can be completely removed (and left off). This is much easier to do underneath the car but at least one can be done from the top. Its under the battery though. Be aware when you disconnect the battery, you will lose your radio coding.
It needs to be done though as if the water is coming in the car then it must be high. The water has most likely damaged your convenience control unit (electronic control unit) under the carpet of the footwell, this controls the failed electrical items you described. The water can cause further problems, electrical as it submerges the battery! And brakes as the brake servo can **** the water in causing many problems! Well worth getting it out sooner rather than later. Hope this helps and hasnt scared you too much. Good luck

SOURCE: I have a 2004 Pontiac Montana - last night I put

It may be the motor, some times if you have the door open with the key on and hit with your fist the lower towards the front of the inside of the door panel it will jar the motor enough to allow it to go up. (hold the swith in the up position while you do this)

SOURCE: right window will not roll down..

I have had to fix three out of four windows in the past month.of my 2004 jeep grand cherokee. I went from a semi cold environment to a really hot environment. I was told by Jeep, after the third time of course, that the wires had more play in the hot environment and had shorted out because jeep did not put correct housing over the wires next to the door. If you have the same problem put electrical tape around your working electric windows so it does not happen to your good windows.

Alarm system was going off...husband tried to disarm the alarm but the battery was dead on the remote. so he manually unlocked the door and now windows will not roll down or sunroof will not open...

Check the door closing on the drives side. Spray cleaner fluid generously into the door latch and lock. The mechanism in the door may be dirty and the alarm is being triggered and or the door is not shutting tight enough and with a little jiggle the alarm is going off. Sometimes they just go off in the middle of the nigfht or parked. Need to check both possibilities.

Audi 96 a4 open and closes on it own

do you use keys or remote to lock it ??
do this anyway.. lock car with key and hold key over for 30secs.the windows may go down, then release and wait 30 secs ,then lock car with remote holding button down for 30 secs, this resets the central locking./alarm system.also check battery is fully charged as this will have an effect on all the above

This morning I came out to start my 96 jetta and the battery seemed dead. So I began the process of getting a jump and as soon as we connected the jumper cables to the jetta the alarm started going off. We...

The immobilizer feature was tripped when the alarm went off. It sounds like the battery was indeed dead. My Nissan 300ZX used to trip the alarm when I jump-started it, although my Audi A4 does not. When the alarm is going off, you have to disarm it with the key or key fob first, or you won't be able to start it. Try putting the key in the door, lock it, unlock it, lock it again, and unlock it again, just to make sure you get a couple of arm/disarm cycles, then try starting it.

Remote not working after disconnecting battery

If car Convenience Control Module(module that control key remote) lose power- remote adaptation to the car will be lost. This apply to some Audi models.
What you can try to do is:
1. Disarm alarm manually by opening door lock with the key
2. Put key into ignition and turn to on position (don't start the car)
3. Press few times remote button (with the ignition in on position)
Depends on your year model it my work (works on the newer models), if not you have to go to the dealership to program your keys.
Good luck!

Alarm for audi A4

Try disarming the car from the trunk. Sounds like the door lock switch is not deactivating the alarm, which it should, with or without the remote.

Car alarm

Try closing it up, and turning the key in the door to lock the doors (arming the system), then a few seconds later, disarm by unlocking the door with the key - that's kind of a soft reboot of the system and it may fix your problem.
