My 93 xj6 doesn't blow or anything but I found that if I kick the blower under the string wheel. It comes on. Then it's blowing cold on the dash and hot out the center counsel. Where do I kick to fix that? There are buttons that light up by the steering wheel. That look like the seat heater button. Is there a way to choose to make the thing blow cold in front and hot in back? 989-657-2563
Check the fan motor runs ok if power directly applied to it,
if OK:-
check operation/replace blower motor control relay (if fitted),
check fan speed control resistor pack- usually mounted in heater air ducting.
two fuses one each side in foot well ,doubt if its the fuse though normally its the loop through in the computer thats behind the radio. So what i do is quite simple but it works and thats to pick up the live side of the fuse for the blower motor then push a wire into it and hold it in with the fuse ,then run the other end direct to the feed for the blower .Saves you about 600euros ,the feed only loops through the computer and inside is a bridge circuit that burns out ,i know i split mine ,
Hi,
First check the fuse. If not the fuse, find the fan relay which is on the firewall under the hood next to the blower. This is most likely the problem. It could also be the blower switch on the dashboard, but my guess is "the relay".
Thanks
Smith
its the computer behind the radio, they have a bridge connection in them that just passes the current straight through it doesnt do anything other than to confuse .run a feed from the heater fuse on either side of the floor well to the appropiate blower ,like right hand fuse to right hand blower and left hand fuse to left hand blower and it will all work ,speed control included
