There should be a plug on the bottom of the transmission to drain and a plug on the side to fill it.
No spark could be a relay or the coil among other things. You may need a shop manual and wiring diagram to troubleshoot the ignition system.

SOURCE: Clutch adjustment 95 Jeep YJ

no, there is no clutch adjustment. the clutch is hydraulic, and self adjusting, there are several things that can go wrong with these. with normal wear the fluid can run low allowing air into the system, causing a weak peddle. they can also develop leaks in the master and slave cylinders resulting in fluid loss also causing a weak peddle leading to an inopperative clutch. check the fluid level in the clucth master cylinder(next to the brake master cylinder. if it is empty, refill it(it takes brake fluid) then cycle the clutch peddle a few times and check for leaks. if there is air trapped in the line the clutch will need to be bled. there is a bleeder screw on top of the slave cylinder, bleed it just like bleeding brakes.

The clutchless shifting doesn't help your cause any. Has the fluid been changed yet? Start with fresh fluid and go from there.

I have a 1989 jeep yj it started blowing oil out the crankcase vent any ideas why

PCV bad. (or its hose pinched, clogged or even backward)
  1. PCV is failing fix this first for $5 or remove it and see how bad blow by is. visually. (remove only valve covers side to test )
  2. or cracked or collapsed piston.
  3. or cracked head gasket, compression tests pass?
yes one of the best jeeps are YJ, not full 10 stinking married computers , wish every day I never sold my 2002,
2002 is the last good jeep IMO

blow by is most mostly past bad piston rings, even warped cylinder from past overheated engine,

The YJ used a 2.5 L AMC 150 I4 or optional 4.2 L AMC 258 I6 until 1990

which one, 4 or 6 cylinders.???

How do you fill transmission fluid on 1990 jeep wrangler

On automatics you fill through the dipstick tube. On stickshift, there is a fill plug on the drivers side of the transmission case.

What type of oil,oil filter and transmission fluid do i need? for a straight, 5 speed 93 jeep wrangler?

Jeep Wrangler/YJ 1987-1995 Repair Guide

Engine Oil

Fig. 1: Be sure to select the proper API quality classification and SAE viscosity grade of engine oil (10W-30)

Oil FIlter (K&N sample)

HP-2004 work for 2.5L and 4.0L

Manual Transmission
The level of lubricant in the transmission should be maintained at the filler hole on all manual transmissions. This hole is on the right side. When you check the level in the transmission, make sure that the vehicle is level so that you get a true reading. When you remove the filler plug, lubricant should run out of the hole. Replace the plug quickly for a minimum loss of lubricant. If lubricant does not run out of the hole when the plug is removed, lubricant should be added until it does. Replace the plug as soon as the lubricant reaches the level of the hole.

Fig. 1: Manual transmission fill and drain hole plugs

DRAIN AND REFILL
Remove the drain plug which is at the bottom of the transmission. Allow all the lubricant to run out before replacing the plug. Replace the case with the correct viscosity oil. All manual transmissions use SAE 75W-90 API quality Grade GL-5 gear lubricant. Tighten the fill hole plug to 27 ft. lbs. (37 Nm).

I hope help you with this (rermember rated this help) Good luck.

What type of transmission do i have?

Your Wrangler is a YJ and the model is an "S". A Wrangler manufactured in 1987 through 1995 are all YJ's and then from 1997 through 2006 are all TJ's. The new Wrangler models are dubbed JK's.
