The rack mounting bolts are 18mm. the steering bolt appears to be 1/2in. i used an adjustable wrench on the jam nuts because I didn't have the right size wrench for them

Check your plugs, check the ign module, test the injectors, take a fuel sample and make sure there isnt water in your fuel, if all these test good perform a compression test. if the compression test fails replace the head. if the compression test is good. check the timing

SOURCE: How do you get to the front turnsignal bulb to

Open the hood and look behind the headlamp assembly and you should see some clips / pins. Pull up on the retaining pins and the headlamp should slide forward and out of the way. You will then see the electrical connector, disconnect it. Look at where the signal assembly is and you should see the socket for the bulb, just twist counter clockwise and it will pop out for you to change

SOURCE: replacing struts on a 2004 Saturn Ion

Firs thing is you need to get a spring compressor and working with one of these tools is dangerous. If it is not secured right the spring can expand and fly right through the car or you. after you have installed the spring compresser and locked it down. you can remove all the attaching parts to remove the strut. If you have any doubts you may be better off taking it to a tech so that the job is warranteed.

SOURCE: 2004 Saturn Ion transmission

It should be on the drivers side and it looks like the oil dipstick. Usually the top of the handle is shaped like a " T ". Most of the time it will be yellow and say trans on it. It may be lower than the oil dipstick. Good luck.

Hydraulic fluid

The tie rod boot might have liquified grease in it.
(If your engine is leaking oil underneath, motor oil might be in that boot.)
Grease is made of oil & soap, and these two can and do separate over time, and with heat.
I looked up your car, and it has no hydraulic fluid connected with the steering.
The rack & pinion is electric, and the only wear will be sloppy joints due to its being worn out, or electric motor failure.
I applaud your attention to good car maintenance..

Replace rack pinion alignment

u need to adjust the tie rods when u removed the old one u should have tken measurements for the distance that the components [center of rack to spindle connections u will need to adjust the ends enought to be able to drive to a shop have an alignment [take 2 straight edge peices of wood or metal and place across tires one on each side measure between the edge at front of tire and measure at back of tire in your case the front measurement will be more than the back adjust till fron and back measures the same this will make the vehicle driveable enough and wont cut down or damage the tire as u are doing now

What type of power steering fluid and the capicity does bmw 545i 2004

Most BMWs have a dip stick in the reservoir cap to measure the fluid level of the power steering fluid. We use Agip power steering fluid. There are generally just two types, standard Dextrn/ATF and Power steering fluid. Unless the cap or manual states otherwise, then just put power steering fluid in it.

How do I change the rack and pinion on a 2004 Cavalier?

its actually pretty straight foward, raise vehicle and support on stands disconnect hydraulics, disconnect tie rod ends, disconnect any electrical connections. remove mounting hardware and remove rack and pinion setup.installation is reverse on removal.note measure tires front and back of hub and adjust new tie rod ends to same measurement, also youll need to take it in for an alignment once your done, however measuring and adjusting to same measurement will get it close enough to drive to alignment shop

Headlamps need adjustmentthey shine to close to the car even when on high beeam

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.
