I went out to my car at about 11:30 this morning to leave for work, turn it on, let it heat up for 5 minutes.. Went to shift to reverse, shifted fine, then abruptly shut off. Tried to turn it on again right away, turned over but didn't turn on.Waited a few minutes, turned on the dome light to see if it was the battery but the dome turned on fine. Waited about 10 minutes and turned it back on, it turned over fine. Let it sit about 7 minutes, turned it off. Turned it back on it was fine. Friend's dad said it could be a fuel pump. Any other ideas?

this kind of cars have coming problems with the ignition switch going bad, try to remove the covers arround the steering column and check the ignition switch located on the buttom side of steering column for possible loose body, if loose replace it, but also make sure if you have any aftermarket alarm and if does have it remove for some one since it may afect the starter circuit, also check your batterie conectors for good contact and tie and clean very well

got me racking my one ameoba brain cell this one,and i cant think of anything that i have had like this sort of problem, except once with an old petrol commer truck many years ago,and the problem here was the inlet maniifold was loose. Now as this is obviously an auto then when the engine "kicks " as its dropped into gear then something is causing it to cut out .Now i suggest you check manifold nuts are tight first. Then check all the wiring connectors onto the sensors on the engine ,pulling the rubber covers back and checking the wires are connected and none broken or and undue bending that could have broken the copper inside the insulation. Then check the actual connectors themselves ,ensuring they are not broken or burnt. If you cant find anything then call out your local mobile mechanic as he will no doubt have a plug in tester and when engine cuts out it should show a fault??But if it is one of these sensors then iam at a loose end as to what one would cause this sort of fault because when i was at college we were still taught how to white metal and scrape the big end and crank bearings. Not to walk around with white coats and plastic pervert gloves and all looking like bill gates type nerds who can only talk about gigas and OBDII also wouldnt dream of changing a clutch on a big truck on the side of the road with only a trolley jack and a couple of pieces of 4x4 and a chain.Let alone sort out the truck driver and give him a right hander for burning the clutch out in the first place.

Next to the headlight switch is a dimmer dial for the interior dash lights... if you turn it all the way up, the interior lights remain on... there is a "detent" on the dimmer. turn the interior dash lights all the way full on ...you'll feel the detent, then turn it down back past the detent a little bit...that should cancel the interior courtesy lights... wait a bit because the interior lights are sometimes on delay timers....
good luck let me know what happens.

Started up fine this morning, but roughly. Spark plugs perhaps? The car is at 102,000 miles and the manual said to change them at 100,000. Perhaps that's the true issue?
