2007 Saturn Vue AWD starts but won't shift to drive/reverse
I live in Fairbanks, AK. It has been -40 for the past 2 weeks, the vehicle has not had any problems. Today, it was -20. I had auto started it earlier, got in and it wouldn't let me shift into reverse. So I restarted the vehicle, it started fine, but then the following lights appeared: Brake system warning light, ABS Warning light, Check Engine light, Service Engine Soon, & Reduced Engine Power light. The gauges won't move - gas, speed, etc. I remove the key from ignition and the parking lights won't turn off. Its still under warranty and I am waiting towing. Due to the severe weather, towing and mechanics are backed up. Any idea what it can be?

I got it back from the shop and the mechanics said that the battery was operating at an extremely low voltage which did not allow any of the electrical functions to work. They admitted that they really didn't know what happen but since the battery was dead by the time they picked it up, they charged the battery at a slow pace and it fixed the problem. I think I agree with you. Thanks again for the help.

Disconnect the battery and reconnect.
This should clear the computer memory.
This may cure the problem.
Suspect extreme cold primary cause in transmission?

thats AWD, is your vehicle normally front wheel drive, theres no easy way for the transfer case to jump into AWD, mine does it to although mines a Expedition an its the front that kicks in.....The only thing you can do is keep a eye on fluid inside axle....
i own a 2003 vue. it happened to me and finally the tranny went. it was a sealed transmission(cvt)do you have a dipstick to check your transmission fluid.if you dont, get saturn to look at it.a new one is 6000.00.Just hope you have a warranty.
