Constant Grinding Noise fronm the left front

I have a 1997 Chevy Cavalier. There is a constant grinding sound coming from the front on the passenger's side. If I move the steering wheel to the right just a bit, it will stop. Could this be a bearing or an axle problem. Thanks.

Sounds like that may be the problem. I'll check it out this evening when I get off from work. Thanks again.

I have a 2000 Chevy Caviler. When I make a left turn with my foot on the gas I hear a loud grinding sound coming from the front passenger side. If I'm using the brake while turning left it will not make the noise until I start to accelerate. Please help!! Does anyone have a clue??

The hub bearing is bad.the reason it stops when you turn the wheel to the one side is because its taking presure off the bearing

Constant grinding noise coming from front drivers side.

Hi there, it sounds like your cv joint is worn, have a mechanic look to confirm and have them replaced

I had a constant grinding coming from front passenger tire. Replaced Caliper and put the worn pads back on for a day, the constant grinding went away. It would still grind while braking, hitting a bump

It sounds like the brake pads are metal to metal, when you turn the flexing of the wheel makes them touch the rotor and grind. This can rarely be caused by a badly worn wheel bearing as well, have both brakes and wheel bearing inspected.

Grinding in front end

If the sound changes as you turn side to side it is your wheel bearing (hub assy)

2002 Chevy Astro van front end makes grinding noise

sounds like a possible wheel bearing issue or brake pad issue!!! i would definatly have this looked at, but in the meantime, make sure that it isnt just a backing plate contacting the rotor ...hope this was helpful!!

Clicking noise from drive shaft

Take it back to the installer of the drive shaft and demonstate to them the problem.

The symptons you describe a indicate to me you have a faulty constant velocity drive joint or inadequate grease lubrication in the joint.

If the drive shaft proves to be the problem, it should be replaced with a new unit under warranty.

I accelerate my 2000 neon, and it vibrates and get grinding noise

Check the front drive axles and boots. A bad cv (constant velocity) joint can cause this.
