I drove my truck all day and stopped for about 10 minutes. when I went to start it back up the guage area where the odometer reads as well as the gear area will not light up and the truck will only crank but will not start. I am going to try to pinpoint a fuse or relay but wondered if anyone knew what it was first....

Hello Johnholley
I am wondering do you hear the fuel pump when you just turn the key into the on run position not crank just in run and listen and see if you hear the fuel pump run for a second, If you don't hear it you will want to check for power at the fuel tank, and have some one cycle the key while your under the truck with a test light. Hopefully you have power and you hear the fuel pump run. Now if you do hear the fuel pump running then the next thing you will want to check is for spark, It could be the ignition module or pickup coil. check out those thing and I am sure you will be able to figure out whats going on. If you don't get back to me and we can try a few other methods. I sure hope that helps you out johnholley. and thanks for using Fix Ya Bear001

could be the fuel pump or the filter could be clogged. prolly cost between $400 and $800 to fix depending on the shop and their prices so its hard to say how much. again this is just a guess

That's a serious electrical problem. I would take it to the dealer on that one.
There should still be parts for a car that is less than 10 years old, so I wouldn't wait too long.
Wish you luck on that one.

After sitting for 2 years, the gas has moisture/water and it's pretty much not gas anymore. It's like your car needs 87 octane and you are running on 80 octane, just enough to fire off but not strong enough to to keep a good idle/firing. I would drain all the gas out and use a higher octane gas for a half of tank just to clean the lines and injectors. Fill the tank up 1/2 with high octane and use a bottle of injector cleaner. This should clear up the sluggish problem. Also it's a good idea to change the oil and run an engine cleaner through. Drain a quart of oil, and pour in the engine cleaner. Let engine run for about 5 min for oil to heat up and circulate. Drain oil and change oil filter, put in new oil.
