Center dash lights out.

The three knobs in the center that control the heat are not eluminated. I'm tired of turning the overhead dash light to see were the airflow vent is blowing at night. Is there some type of fuse or bulb I need to replace? Help me see the light again.

I recently bought a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee...I didn't notice during my daytime test drive that the lights were burned out of the center dash (just the ones that control the heating/cooling and blowers.

Like stated above there are 3 small bulbs soldered onto the cuircut board. To replace yourself you must remove the radio bezel above and the shift bezel, these just snap into place though be carefull and always try to pull evenly to avoid breaking any tabs. The whole heater panel then can be pulled off. Unclip all the wiring harnesses, then unscrew the heater control itself from the panel. Remove the back of the heater unit to access the cuircut board. Remove the burnt bulbs by the base, slowly wiggling the base until they snap off. Go to radio shack and buy bulb #272-1141 (mini lamp 12Volts, 25mA). Remove the wires from the new bulb and melt off the glue on the base of the bulb with a lighter. Now you will have two metal leads exposed at the base of the bulb. Insert the leads into the base you removed from the cuircut board and slightly bend outwards so the base stays on. Dab a little bit of solder onto each of the prongs, then solder each prong onto the appropriate cuirtcut. be careful with the soldering iron not to touch any other areas of the cuircut board. I would suggest buying the long thin attachment for this procedure, as the prongs are small and the base of the bulb will be close to the cuircut board when soldering. This procedure is not for the novice, and if you are I would practice practice practice before you attempt to install the bulbs. I have done basic soldering before but nothing on cuircut boards, and I changed 3 burnt bulbs no problem, though I have to buy extra bulbs because on my first attempt I cut all of the metal leads off. Cost me about 5$ to do, since I already have a soldering iron. Good luck.

I have the same problem on a 2005 and contacted Jeep about it with no favorable reply. The lights are LEDs soldered onto the control board internal to the heater controls. I found that the solder connections are defective and the led's actually overheated enough to melt the plastic that diffeuses the light to the know area. I am now noticing the same thing happening on the Homelink buttons. Yesterday, the heater stopped working on any setting other than high, so I will have to replace the controls. I got a price on the at $375 from JEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What junk, probbaly will not buy another one, especially with this **** 4.7l motor.

Well...... I am sorry to say that the panel is 200.00 and 100.00 to replace by a dealer. DO NOT TRY TO DO IT YOUR SELF!!!!! You will be sorry. There is a lot of things you can screw up and basically kill your jeep or cost you a LOT of money. Do it and the dealership will love you!!! :) If you can just trade it in during the day and not at night.

1996 Honda accord cabin air control won't switch to full cold it's only warm air is it sticking in the air box or off track idk the knob won't turn all the way to cold either I force it and it clicks back...

the air control heat knob needs removing to determine if its the knob itself, this will just pull off, look at reverse of knod and look to see if the center locating pigot is worn "round" or broken , if this looks ok then the panel housing the knob controls will need removing and then check if the heat control wire is in place, if so trace this wire ,this is a bare steel control wire not an electrical wire, to the heater box lower dash behind the control panel and see if you can manually move the heat control flap this will look like two toothed semi circular cogs that inter lock , one may have jumped out of place try a little vaseline on the cogs to help lubricate the movement, this is just good practice, after all this i think you will have found the problem

Dash lights or navigation light do not come on when the key is on

first check that the dash light dimmer knob is not turned to very dim (far left). It is located in the dash instrument cluster slightly left of center between the tachometer and speedometer near the bottom edge.

If that seems okay, check out the No. 13 fuse in the passenger's side under dash fuse box.

If the fuse is okay, you may have problem with the driver's multiplex control unit. This unit controls lighting for multiple other lights and switch indicating lights.

I cant remove the heat part of the dash to replace the stock radio with a diffrent one

Just as a warning, this is going to be a pain...  I'm assuming you have the "sliding levers" HVAC controls.
I took the center control pod out so I could wire in a "headlights on" buzzer.  It's not possible (at least not straightforward) to remove the HVAC controls from the rest of the center bezel.  With the lever controls, the levers actuate cables that effect the actual adjustment under or behind the dash.  There are three cables, one each for temp, recirc and airflow.  There's one cable on each side of the center stack under the dash beyond where the plastic trim ends.  The third is behind the glove box (yes you'll need to remove the glove box to get to it).  Detach each cable under the dash, then you can massage the center bezel out of place.
While I was there, I added a "headlight off" buzzer, as Hyundai never put one in as original equipment, and I was sick of leaving the lights on and having the jump-start it.  I tapped into the cigarette lighter hot line, and the hot for the cigarette lighter light, and connected a piezo buzzer from Radio Shack.  The light comes on with the headlights, and the lighter socket is only live when the ignition is on.  Net result is that the buzzer sounds when you leave the lights on.

Interior lights don't go on

It sounds like the feature has been turned off. Check your owners manual, it will show you how to reactivate them again.
Start there, if that doesn't work, let me know.

2004 Dodge Ram Pick up. The instrument lights for the fan controls -heating cooling are real dim. What does it to take to change these lamps out? Pulled the control knobs off but not sure what to do next.

The controls for fan speed, temp and air flow are contained in a self-contained control module attached to the center dash. To get to the lights, you have to remove the center dash unit (refer to the 1st diagram for removal).b5f7dfa.jpg Once the center dash is removed, turn it over and you will see three bulbs (you will actually see the base of the bulbs--refer to the 2nd attachment for illustration). d6d29c8.jpg
Simply remove the bulbs with a narrow blade, flat screwdriver. The Mopar Part Number for the bulbs is: 50138115AA. I paid about $2.25 for each bulb. Let me know if you need more info.
