I'm not sure what you are looking for. Are you looking for brake line diagram? Diagram of brake assemblies? Vacumm diagram? Here's a couple, if they don't help, let me know exactly what you need.

Why 1998 Ford Explorer brake lights on both sides won't work

Probably have ground wire shorting somewhere. Also could be that both lights are burnt out but highly unlikely. 3424655c-0c29-408e-b448-575e7e2ee10f.jpg

This is is a picture of the wiring diagram. Hopefully this helps.

My 2005 ford explorer 2wd seems to lock up whenever I hit the brakes hard and then it jumps into gear. What could that be? Transmission is fine, breaks are fine.

I think it sounds like you really did have it looked at

Now you need a shop that goes for a ride with you
& hears the long version of the problem & experiences it

Then instead of looking they actually get out the wiring diagrams
& get serious about diagnosing what seems like an ABS Braking
System issue

May be completely wrong, but I have to guess based on your story

Bottom line, you have yet to address actually working on solving
this issue.

I see this on a thousand questions a week just on this site

People go to dealers & shops ,some many times, some never
leaving the vehicle or I guess the shops don't know why they are
there, because they don't even address the initial complaint or
even road test or the owner never goes for a ride & then come here
for a guess at it.

Ford explorer fuses keeps popping for brake switch

To start with, it is impossible to look the wiring diagrams up or check to see what circuits the fuse protects if you do not mention WHICH fuse is blowing. It would also be very helpful to mention WHICH ENGINE and what type of TRANSMISSION your truck is equipped with because the wiring diagrams are different.

Also, WHAT grounds have continuity? Continuity to WHAT??? If you are trying to fix a fuse that keeps blowing, WHY are you checking GROUNDS??? Why do you have the brake switch off? It is not necessary to remove the brake switch to see if it is working.

I have no idea what "hot" you are talking about. The hot from the brake pedal switch? The two wires on the brake pedal switch on a 2000 Ford Explorer are LIGHT GREEN and LIGHT GREEN/RED...I have no clue what "blacks" you are talking about.

Try to make a little sense here and I will see if I can help you.

Where is the brake switch on my 98 ford explorer

Look above your brake pedal and you will see your brake switch up along your brake pedal arm. It will either be between the brake arm and the firewall so when you brake it pushes the switch in. Or it will be between the dash and the brake arm so when you brake it pulls the switch out.

Cant find the fuse for my brake lights on my 2002 ford explorer

if the third brake light works you will probably need a brake on off switch. the fuse panels on that truck are under the dash near the steering column and under the hood in the power distribution box. both of these panels are identified in the owners manuel.

Third brake light flashing when engine is off, no main brake lights

this does not sound like a fuse problem. seems like a wiring issue. You probably have wires shorted together, and/or shorts to ground somewhere.

Brake switch is a good place to start, make sure it's working fine. To find the wiring issue you will need electrical diagrams, so get yourself a repair manual for a 1998 Explorer.

Look at connectors, see if you can find components or connections where all the brake light and tail lights connect to together. Using a multi meter you should be able to pin point the issue if u follow the wiring from the battery to the lights using the diagrams and checking connectors.

Brakes

you may have to take the rotors back off completely and look for the baby brake shoes behind the rotors because sometimes they will hang up and give you some of the problems you are having
