Yes definitely its starter not connected properly issue.

It can be faulty starter or there is loose connection from battery to starter. The starter assembly gets power from battery. Check voltages at starter wires and see if you are getting 12 volts or not. If not then its no power issue due to low battery volt or no connection between battery to starter.

SOURCE: Negetive battery cable sparks when Itry to connect i put new altenator&starter selenoid

I had a similar issue and found that the connections at the starter shifted and created a short. An old friend of mine kept frying the starter solenoid wires and kept a spare set along. He beat the problem by replacing the main ground strap/cable from the battery to the chasis. Age caused too much ground resistance and caused the ignition wires to overheat and melt. Another friend was on his fourth alternater on a Landrover when I suggested he look at the battery ground.

SOURCE: new starter and battery and still won't start

Could be voltage regulator or starter relay has also gone bad. Seems to be fairly common in the Bauer editions.

SOURCE: 2008 GM Melted ground wire/headlight plug - why ?

On your bulb. It should be labeled DOT 12V and then have something like 45W,50W, 55W or whatever wattage your bulb is. If it doesn't, then the bulb is not a proper bulb. I've seen a lot of people installing aftermarket bulbs that burn the wiring and harness because the bulbs draw much more power than the wires are designed (I've seen some install 100W bulbs for 50W harnesses)

If the car was purchased new and the bulbs are the original bulbs, then I don't believe they would. In that case, I would be lead to believe it is an issue with the harness, which could cost upwards of $100. You could splice in a new wire (14GA and better recommended). I don't think headlights are covered under warranty, but you could give it a shot and see what they say.

SOURCE: 1998 Pontiac transport van wont start:

Well you hit all the major ones, could be crank position sensor, ignition module, a bad coil pack (it should have 3), you need to check that you have spark to each plug while the engine is turning over (!!!be careful as this will hurt if you get shocked!!!), this will rule out coil packs. if you have no spark to any plug your looking at a bad ingnition module (which is what the coil packs bolt to). Hope this gets you on the right track!

Check the battery cable where it connects to the engine block or gearbox. A 'bad earth' can cause the symptoms you describe.

depending on how you pulled the plug leads off the plugs will result on wether or not you have damaged the leads. It is very easy to separate the wire end from the carbon track inside the lead and so they will misfire.. Suggest you get new plug leads and be careful on how you handle the leads when pulling them off the plugs.

2004 Ford Expedition has some kind of electrical or wiring problem that has caused my starter to keep turning and burn up. We replaced that starter but it keeps trying to do the same problem when we try to...

Ignition switch may be bad. Ford has a history of recalling vehicles for faulty ignition switches. You may call and take to a service rep at a dealership and find out if there is a recall for your vehicle regarding this matter.

I have a 1997 sw2 1.9l dohc. I just installed a new

Sounds like you may have the solenoid wire end touching the power wire, causing the starter to run constantly. If not, you may have a bad ignition switch.

95 jetta wont start unless you pop start it i changed the starter i have all the power just when i turn the key nothing

check your fuses under the hood and under the dash
check polarity of battery (if you unhooked booth leads)
is the battery any good?
you probly conected the leads to the starter incorectly (recheck them)

(the following asume your tur n key ignition system is functioning properly)
to test your tur n key system simply hook up a test light to the small lead running to the starter cylynoid "while the wire is disconected" and have a friend turn the ignition over. [dont furget to test the test light first lol]

or even got the wrong starter completly (usaly a store problem)
did you " bench test" the new/used starter befor installing it ?
iv goten brand new starters doa

is the ground strap hooked up ? is there corosian on the battery posts or any of the high amperage conections?

is the cylynoid on the starter or somewhere else under the hood?
cautiously try to bypass the cylynoid ie run a hot wire to the small lead on the cylynoid
(this can usaly be done by jumping from the main red wire on the starter to the hot lead of the cylynoid)

notes: when bypassing the ingnition system (jumping the cylynoid)
DO NOT have the ignition in the on postion and it is best to remove the lead from the cylynoid (incase of a short in the wire's some place)

if nothing remove the large red wire on the cylynoid and touch it directly to the starter lead itself (there will be a fair amount of spark when doing this its normal) but make shur you are conecting to the starter lead and not a gound point as this will cause exsesive sparking that isn't good
dose the starter tur n the engine over
back track untill you find the fault be it starter itself, cyclynoid, wiring, blown fuse, corosion, bad battery,

still cant find the problem take it to a shop!
hope i helped yah

THE STARTER WILL NOT TURN OFF

Sounds like you have a bad starter solenoid. Replace JUST the solenoid...save money....that'll fix your problem.....unless you just want to replace the whole starter assembly!

The jeep cranks but has trouble turning over. There is a new starter and batter. Could it be spark plugs?

What it could be is a bad earth lead to the battery.Or bad connection at either end of it.Try this.Get some jump cable leads(booster leads).Hook one end to the neg.terminal of the battery and the other end to a solid point on the motor. This will give a good earth.Crank the motor. If it cranks faster, its the neg.cable to the battery.Remove and clean both end and replace.Hope this helps
