SOURCE: where do you add transmission fluid on a 2006 Ford

In the transmission dip stick tube. Be careful how much you add, if you over fill it, you will need to drop the pan and start over.

SOURCE: do I need to change transmission fluid on my 2005 ford freestyle

The high pressure filter and fluid are supposed to be changed at 60k intervals. Ford has a very specific oil for this transmission and the service fee will be $300 to $450 - mine was around $420.

No other car place will touch the CVS transmission in a Ford Freestyle and most Ford dealerships are clueless on thier maintenance and repairs. On most issues that crop up the first thing they want to do is swap it out - for $4000+.

SOURCE: Capacity of fluid for a transmission of a 2006 F150 5.4L Truck. Book says 13.9 quarts I emptied 3-4 quarts.

you must have just drained the pan? There is much more held in the converter. The one I am rebuilding this week is an 05 and doesn't have a drain plug on it (not many do anymore). A flush is the only way to change it all out. 13.9qts sounds like the total amount if the trans was completely empty, converter and all

SOURCE: how do i (a girl) add transmission repair fluid to '97 Automatic Ford Escort?

Open the hood and look for either a red handle for a dipstick or one marked trans. Remove the dipstick and ,with a funnel, pour the fluid into the tube the dipstick came out of.

The Ford Freestyle transmission speed sensor location is driver side of the transmission, near the rear of the unit. The transmission is one of the most important parts of the vehicle. You will come into problems at some point. You may experience shudders.

Where is the transmission fluid drain plug located on 2006 ford freestar

It probably doesn't have one. Most cars with automatic transmissions (especially American makes) do not have drain plugs. You have to drop the transmission pan to drain the fluid (or suck it out through the dipstick/filler tube).

Where do I find the dip stick to check tranny fluid

There is no dipstick. You have a sealed transmission that uses synthetic transmission fluid. The fluid level has to be checked by a mechanic. If you are not leaking any fluid, you do not need to get it checked. The owners manual probably says you never have to change the transmission fluid. But if you want to change it, wait until 60,000 to 80,000 miles before it gets changed.

06 Ford Freestyle FWD CVT Fluid Level Measuring (IDLE? or off?)

Hi,
According to the Ford shop manual, the cvt transmission has a transmission fluid dipstick located on the front of the transmission (drivers side between the radiator and trans. The fluid should be checked with the transmission temp between 190deg F and 198deg F ( I think hot engine covers it) running in park. The fluid should be in the crosshatched area of the dipstick. With the the transmission between 109deg f and 117deg f running in park the fluid should be at the bottom hole of the dipstick. This whole procedure is based on your being able to monitor the transmission fluid temperature. If you have a scan tool that shows you live data and you are able to monitor the temp, good. But if you don't own a scan tool and buying one would cancel out the savings of doing your own trans service................ then if it were me I would top off the fluid at the hot (190-198deg f) temp adding a little at a time until I was just near the top of the crosshatch area. I think logic prevails here. If the manual wants the fluid at the bottom hole with a cool trans then we must assume that when the trans is hot it wont be above the top hole. And I also want to add that if this fluid level was this critical then I would think I would have alot of freestyles going thru my shop with transmission concerns as soon as one sprung the smallest leak.
I really hope this helps you out and good for you for doing your own service, I admire that!
