A.i.r. problem with 99 saturn with cal emmitions

What model? If it's the S series, look for 96-99.

no to the fly by wire on this car
and the pcm it under the dash on the left side of the streeing wheel

IT IS LOCATED ON THE LEFT END OF THE CYLINDER HEAD (DRIVERS SIDE )

the 96-99 saturns had a special horn with the relay built in. you are going to have to get a used one from a junkyard or eBay, or buy one new at getsaturnparts.com. they are about 56 bucks and are not interchangeable with off the shelf parts store horns as they have 3 wires. you might want to get a new horn switch too.

For free i will tell you that the Saturn LW was not made in 1999, that 99 is an SW or it is not a 99.

most all body and interior parts will interchange 96-99. engine however is different, you can put a SOHC engine into another car made for SOHC. you cannot put a DOHC engine into a saturn made for the SOHC engine or vice versa. the transmissions have different gear ratios. and the engines changed between 98 and 99 so you may have some problems swapping between those years.

The SL2 is a DOHC 1.9L and the SL1 is a SOHC 1.9L. They have different transmissions, the DOHC uses a 15 inch wheel while the SOHC has a 14 inch wheel. So when you are shopping around for another transmission you must get one from the same type of engine. Saturn auto transmissions seem to be problematic, I stuck with the manual trannys and had very good luck.

That I'm not sure about yet. Do me a favor and pull the trany dipstick and put your nose really close to the fluid on the stick and see if it smells burnt.and is the fluid red or brown.

i have found on that car if the temp sensor is unpluged or is bad oddly enough it wont let the car start you should check it and or replace it

Last time this happened to me Saturn replaced valve body in tranny, this can be easily done at home if you are handy
