SOURCE: 1999 Lesabre Custom, weak power steering

first check the fluid but when its low it will make a whining sound so not that likely if you are not hearing anything. the way to check the fluid is to take the cap of the resevoir and it has a dipstick on it. the resevoir is on the power steering pump which on your car i believe is on the belt side of the engine between the engine and the firewall. what is most likely your problem is that your pump is worn out and needs to be changed.

Check your power steering fluids, or any hose leaks. Perhaps you may need a new Power Steering Unit?

Renault megane showing steering fault

What year is your Megane? The second generation model from 2002 onwards is know to have power steering issues. It usually involves the steering column being replaced and the electronics may also need to be reset. You'll need to get the whole system checked as the actual steering rack itself can also cause issues.
Is it doing anything else when you turn the steering? Is it making strange noises or vibrating as you hold it during a turn? Does the steering get easier at higher speeds?

I'm getting P0400 and P0235 on Renault Logan

P0400 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Malfunction
P0235 Turbocharger Supercharger Boost Sensor Circuit Malfunction

I would say the EGR Valve is faulty- stuck open. I think the second code ( P0235) is being generated due to the EGR problem.

REPAIR OF STEERING MAHINDRA RENAULT LOGAN

  1. Diagnosis: The first step in repairing the steering system is to diagnose the problem. This may involve a visual inspection of the steering components, a road test to check for handling issues, or the use of diagnostic tools to identify any faults in the steering system.
  2. Replacement of worn or damaged components: If any components of the steering system are worn or damaged, they will need to be replaced. This may include parts such as the steering rack, tie rods, ball joints, or steering column.
  3. Alignment: After replacing any worn or damaged components, it's important to perform a wheel alignment to ensure the steering system is properly calibrated. This will help to prevent any uneven tire wear or handling issues.

My steering is very hard i need 2 hands to steer my car into a space i have to turn steering wheel with lots of effort

Hello
There could be a simple reason for this, you may need power steering fluid.THis can be checked under the hood.
Look for the power steering fluid reservoir and make sure its full.

Another problem may be the belt that turns the pump or the power steering pump itself.Usually there would be some noise associated with this.If this is the case have the car looked at by a mechanic.

Steering is hard to turn

If it is hard to turn in both directions check power steering pump fluid level. Also with both front wheels off the ground key on engine off, turn the tires manually at one of the front tires and turn with the steering wheel engine off. Check for binding (they will require effort to turn) you are looking for a change in effort.

Hard steering

There is no power steering fluid since the steering is manual. LOL It takes a little braun and muscles, it's a good form of exercise to look at the bright side, and most of all you save a lot of gas at the same time. Hey i wish my car was like that.

Light steering

See if you have a power steering pressure switch. Some cars have a variable orifice power steering switch that varies pressures based on speed and how fast you are turning. For example, in a parking lot (low speeds), power assist would be greatest whereas at higher speeds, it would be lowest. If you have a power steering pressure switch on the car, that could be ur problem.
