I have a 2003 Chevrolet Impala with 96,000 miles. About 6 months ago towards the end of a 250 mile drive I noticed the transmission not shifting smoothly. Recently the problem is intermittent (never when the engine is cold). My mechanic drove the car with me in the passenger seat and said that this was normal. I have had the transmission fluid flushed at 30,000 mile intervals. The problem persists even after recently having the transmission fluid flushed. Is this normal? Would the "check engine" light come on if there was a problem?

I am having the same problem. I had it diagnosed as code P1811, Pressure control solenoid. Said it was about and $800 job plus $180 to flush out the transmission fluid. It appears they have to take the transmission 1/2 way out and drop the pan. Not sure if it works as I haven't had it done yet. If anyone has any solution as to a cheaper way, do tell.....
How much transmission fluid fills a 2003 Impala completely up?
