"Clanking" Noise When I Turn Left

I own a "87 Subaru 4WD wagon.I have a slight clanking noise when I turn to the left. I was told it could be the CVC boot. Does anyone know if this is it and if so, what's it going to cost me to repair it (approx.)?

2003 camry with 200,000 miles has rubbing noise not the brakes wondering if a cv joint or u joint problem

If you have a rubbing noise on the BRAKES then its most likely the pads worn out and touching the metal backing plate ,other wise it could be the wheel bearing worn or coming loose but the CV Joint if worn will make a clanking noise when turned on full lock either Left or Right.
So jack it up at the front and check the wheel bearings and turn the wheel to see if the noise is there as it will be a metal to metal noise ,but if pads are good then it will just be a soft rubbing noise.

2004 Pontiac Grand AM SE Makes a clanking noise when I turn to the left. It also makes a loud hum and clanking when a cross wind comes from the drivers side of the car. Any thoughts?

You may have a worn out CV joint and a bad wheel hub. Have them both inspected and replace any worn parts. A bad CV joint will cause your to be stranded out some where is it fails and a bad wheel hub will cause your wheel to fly off it it fails. best place to have the work done would be a transmission shop, since there always working on drive line components. Good luck and call around for the best price.

Clanking noise when in park, louder with ac turned on

Pull the engine accessory drive belt off and check the pulley bearing and the nose of the water pump and AC compressor for play, this may be the AC compressor pulley bearing or the water pump pulley bearing
