It sounds like you oil is going out or the oil pump screen is stop up,check to see if your gage reads 40 to 60 lbs when its cold then if it does it could be oil pump or cam bernings but find a oil pressure gage to see if it might be your gage be bad or oil pump good luck...
Pull your oil pan immediately and check your pickup screen, it may be
clogged with sludge. This is an easy fix, and it may not be too late to
save the engine. If the engine is not making any noises, it's very
likely OK at this point, but it's not a good idea to drive it like this.
If your engine has sludge, get a couple quarts of kerosene or diesel
and put that in there with some oil and let it idle for a while, it
should dissolve most of the gunk, then change your oil again.

The Oil Pressure switch is notorious for going bad on Dodge truck. I recently change out my oil pump on a 5.2 L engine only to find that I had a faulty switch. The switch for a 5.2L is only 16.99 at autozone and is less time consumming than replacing the oil pump.
SOURCE: drop in oil pressure
The oil sending unit could be bad, or the pressure relief valve in the oil pump is malfunctioning.
SOURCE: Oils pressure gauge fluctuates
check the oil viscosity,it might be too old(driven for toomany miles)..
if thats not ityou might need to get the oil preasure lubricating pump checked, and id suggest you do it fast or theres a lot of engine wear and tear.

u Have a problem with the oil sending unit. The sensor is located beack right side of the engine block. Take out the switch and make sure u have good oil PSI. Should be 6 psi at idle and around 50 at 4000 RPM. If the presure is ok replace the switch they are very cheap about 20 bucks. Please rate.

The first stop is to measure the pressure with an external gauge. if the readings are the same, surgery is needed, I would look at the oil pressure relief valve for foreign particles.
It takes resistance to make pressure, and your decsription does not sound good. If the pressure is actually dropping, and you find no issues with the oil pump and pick up, you need to measure bearing clearances... Essentially, everywhere oil is pumped needs to be inspected...
