Do you mean the distributor pick-up rotor? If it is and you are referring to the number 1 piston, the tip of the pick-up rotor should be a little bit pass the #1 contact terminal of the distributor cap. The tip should be exactly at the terminal when the piston is at the specified position before the top dead center (BTDC).

try removing spark plug No1 and insert a rod or fine screw driver and detect the top dead point of the piston.

SOURCE: My 1994 Nissan pickup brakes shudder at low speed

Inspect the brake rotors for grooving and score marks and also look to see if there are any heat cracks, if there is grooving or very little brake pad material remaining replace the brake pads and also two new rotors, it is also possible that it is just a frozen or stuck brake caliper, this would be indicated by an uneven rotor one that has more metal or meat on one side that the other also uneven brake pads indicates an uneven brake caliper application

SOURCE: My 1994 Nissan Pickup was showing the battery light

The alternator is not charging, need to replace it,and charge the battery up with a slow charge,,,2 amp, over night a then some, slow charging gets the charge all the way up,and creates a deep charge that will stay, and prolong the battery life.

SOURCE: I'm looking to buy a 1994 Nissan pickup but it's

I had the same problem on my 1997 Nissan Pickup XE. I got my mechanic to adjust the idle speed. It's a pretty simple and easy thing to do if you know what you are doing.

How do you set the timing on a 1991 Nissan pickup truck 2.4 L 4cyclinder D 21

Autozone lists that engine timing at 10 degrees before top dead center with the engine warm and idling at 800 RPM. That is with the transmission in neutral (parking brake on) and all accessories off. It also states timing and idle speed are electronically controlled and non-adjustable.

I have a 1994 nissan 2.4L pickup.I am currently in the process of changing the timing chain, cam gear and crank gear. In this process I noticed that the keyway on the crank gear is not in the up posit

Same happened to me. Economic way to ensure its at tdc is to remove #1 plug, using a thin dowel rod mark the distance it travels inside spark plug hole. Turn crankshaft slightly until you can measure the #1 piston is at its highest position. You'll be at tdc.

I have a 1994 nissan pickup that has trouble getting up mto speed and trembles when it is doing so

Sounds like a dead missfire. Wire lead arcing out. I would put spark plugs and a wire set on it. should be easy. May want to do the distributor cap and rotor as well.

94 yota pickup V6. Timing belt failed, replaced it, now it's running rough and lacks power. Ideas?

The engine is a free running type so bent valves should not be the problem. Recheck the timing marks on the camshafts and crankshaft. If you are one timing belt tooth off, the engine could run but run rough. With the number 1 cylinder piston at top dead center, the camshaft marks should be lined up with their "TDC" marks and the crankshaft mark should be at 0 deg.

If the distributor was removed during the belt replacement, make sure it is in time with the crankshaft timing mark. When the No. 1 cylinder piston is at top dead center, the crankshaft timing mark should be on 0 deg. and the distributor rotor should be pointing to the number 1 terminal on the distributor cap at the same time.

Top dead center-how can you tell where the rotor is pointing since it's round to see if it's pointingto #1 spark plug

The rotor may be round but it has a metal contact point on it. When that is pointing to the #1 spark plug wire position on the distributor cap and the TDC timing marks on the crankshaft pulley are lined up, it is at #1 TDC.

IS SETTING THE TIMING AS SIMPLE AS GETTING THE TIMING MARKS LINED UP? IF SO I HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED

You have to make sure the engine is at top dead center on number one cylinder (all valves closed on number one cylinder) - if distributor installed check that #1 is on firing position so is not on exhaust stroke and or remove spark plug and put plastic straw in hole to see if piston is at TDC (top dead center) ready to fire on compression stroke.
After setting timing always rotate engine 4 times to bring back to same location and that nothing like pistons bump into valves etc. and make sure that timing marks are at the location. If you install backwards on some engines the oil pump will not be in line to accept oil and will not get oil pressure - I believe this true of 3.1 chev or was it 3.8 I messed up on, lol

Timing mark 1994 sentra 1.6l out of 5 marks what

The timing marks indicate degrees of advance. Thus, the first mark would be top dead center and in increments of two it increases to 10 degrees before top dead center.
