Gauges,Radio,wipers and headlight won't work.

Sounds like you have at least one blown fuse. Check the fuse panel, It's on the driver's kick panel next to the dead pedal (where you rest your left foot) to the left. of the clutch. The cover for the fuse panel faces the center of the car.

Here is a picture of a good and blown fuse:

1994 silverado illumination on instrument panel doesn't work, parking lights and tail lights do not work but headlights and brakelights work fine. All fuses are good. Is this a bad dimmer switch?

No. Dash lights being out could be a bad headlight switch, since the dash lights are routed through the headlight switch, not the dimmer switch. Park and tail lights also controlled by the headlight switch.

1997 dodge caravan. headlights won't work. the lights are good, the fuses are good, replaced the switch... still they don't work

Well...if lights are good, fuses are good, and the peplaced switch is good...maybe there is a relay for the headlights in a distrobution panel under the hood.
I'd check that next.

Hope this helps...

Headlight won't come on

The headlights have 2 fuses. One is a main power feed under the hood in the distrabution box and the other is under the dashboard. Check the fuses and then check for power at the switch. If you have power at the switch then its not a fuse its the switch and the trailer you had connected most likely shorted and back fed into the parking and dash light circuit. Those circuits also run from the light switch.

My instrument panel light on my 2001 toyota 4 runner will not illuminate.

There is a fuse it might be marked ROOM or PNL
Do your taillights work that fuse may also be the one bad because the taillights come on with the dash lights. and I have seen the Dimmer switch bad or turned alll the way down.

1994 gmc safari

Hi there,

When you say you 'lose instrument panel', does that mean instrument panel lighting or the gauges go dead?

When you flip off the headlights, does the instrument panel come back? If it does, forget the fuse box.

If it's the instrument lighting, I'd be looking at headlight switch itself. In Safari's, the headlight switch and panel dimmer switch reside in one assembly. Coincidence? I think not.

I recommend replacing the switch. You can find one at a salvage yard for $5.00.

When you do the replacement, inspect the plugs and wiring attached to the old one for anything suspicious (loose wires, frayed insulation, bare wire, charred wire, etc.)

Let me know how it turns out.
Good luck,

If this works out for you, please take a sec and rate my solution.

Thanks
Mike
