On my 2002 1.8t VW, everytime I drive my car the "Oil Press. Stop Motor!" signal comes on, never goes off. We have replaced the oil pump, the sending unit, and have put vw grade oil in it continuously. There was an oversized filter put in the car before we purchased it. A mechanic told us one thing left could be narrow/ clogged turbo supply tube from the oil pan. Any suggestions??
The oil pickup tube has a gauze. Have you checked that for blockage?

all turbo engines have a oil line to the turbo. If it is not getting oil the turbo will burn up and have to be replaced. Change your oil and filter to start with.

It is on the passenger side right behind the washer fluid fill tube. You can follow the fuel lines (look like 1/4" black tubes, some are clear) from the injector pump to it. It is a caniser a bit bigger than a normal looking oil filter and sits between the washer bottle and the metal that forms the wheel well. It is held in by a screw type clamp about half way down the cylinder. Probably isn't the fuel filter unless there is air in the lines to the injector pump or they didn't bother to fill the fuel filter up with diesel after putting it in. There is not a fuel pump in the tank in these cars so everything is sucked up by the injector pump and it needs to be primed properly.

Best thing to do is to undo the engine mounts and lift the engine up. You can use an ond seat belt and a strong peice of wood that will fit accross the engine bay. You can use a tie-down ratchet as well to lift up the engine as it will make things easier. then you'll have more room to remove the pan. Cheers.

well if you can get a new pan, gasket and oil pump for $150...by all means replace it.

is he sure it isn't the rings are worn also? If so don't waste money on a valve job, when you really need a rebuilt motor. Had you changed the oil more you wouldn't need this repair at this time. Good uck as his price is decent. Ask him the price for a long block?
