Many vehicles have a control module for the automatic transmission called a transmission control module (TCM). The engine control module (ECM) communicates with the TCM to monitor the automatic transmission for faults. If the TCM detects a fault in the automatic transmission and sets a transmission related fault code, the ECM is informed of this also and sets a P0700 in the ECM memory.
This illuminates the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) to let the driver know there is a problem. If this code is present and the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) is illuminated that basically means there is at least one transmission code set in the TCM's memory. P0700 is an informational code only. It doesn't point to a direct fault in the engine, only a general fault in the transmission. More diagnosis is necessary to identify what the transmission fault is. This requires a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission module.

Symptoms Symptoms of a P0700 DTC may include:

  • Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination
  • The transmission may exhibit drivability problems like slipping, etc.
Causes More often then not, the cause of this code is that there is a transmission problem of some kind. The TCM detected the problem and set a code. P0700 means that a fault code is stored in the TCM. However this doesn't rule out the possibility of a failed PCM or TCM (unlikely).
Possible Solutions For a P0700 the only real solution is to acquire a scan tool that will communicate with the transmission control module. Extracting this code from the TCM will be the first step in repairing the fault in the transmission.
If the TCM compatible scan tool will not communicate with the Transmission Control Module then that is a good indication that there may be a fault with the TCM itself.

SOURCE: need to replace radiator in 1997 honda accord se. what are the steps?

First drain radiator by opening drain valve,"located on bottom corner usualy the right, but not always." If you open the overflow or remove cap this will happen much faster. For safety sake disconnect ground wire from battery, the radiator is locked down by top cover that attaches to body with generaly 4 bolts, upper and lower hoses have to be disconnected and if it is automatic the transmission cooling lines are connected in stacked fashion,"one above the other."The cooling fan has to be unplugged and it should be removable at this point,"when unplugging fan be carefull with connector so it doesn't break.reverse steps to replace making sure the bolts go in the right place and it all fits properly.the thermostat,"located behind the kneck of upper hose," should be replaced after connecting lower hose because in order to fill the block up and prevent damaging thermostat the block shoud be filled with coolant before attaching upper hose.

SOURCE: 94 honda accord flash code =17

Code 17 Vehicle speed sensor

Usually associate with a bad or disconnected Speedometer cable. Rumors have it also associated to fuses on the Hazard lights/Turn signal.

This is the one under the tranny near the right wheel. The Countershaft speed sensor is the best bet. i replaced this one on a 1995 honda accord with flashing d4 and after replacement it was gone.the part will be about 125 bucks.

Honda accord 2001 code PO700

P0700 HONDA Description The Transmission Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transmission control. When the TCM detects a malfunction with the control, a signal is send to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to trigger the Engine Light or Service Engine Soon light. THE LIGHT IS FLASHING BY THE "D" FOR DRIVE ON THE LIGHT PANEL. IT ONLY HAPPENS EVERY NOW AND THEN.......................

then means the tranmission has developed some kind of problem, the light flashs only for this reason, to find out what that might be you will need the Transmission Control Module scanned for fault codes.

2001 Accord coupe Codes P0505 - P0700 - 40-01. Any ideas? Trans does not always shift down to 1st. when I come to a stop. Mainly when engine is cold. About 114,000 miles.

those are manufactor specific codes and if u go to an offical honda site these year accords have serious known transmission problems that are still covered by the dealer even though out of warranty

Can i pull my honda accord auto tranmission with my rv with out a oiler

Hi,
From your brief description I take it you want to tow your automatic Honda behind your R.V.?
If you tow/pull it with all wheels on the road then NO! you will burn the drive plates out in about 20 or so miles.
If you suspend the driving wheels presumably front and tow/pull with the freewheeling wheels on the road there shouldn't be any problems.
Good Luck!
Please remember to rate my efforts,
