1998 ford contour battery drains over night and wipers come on when jumping

Check for battery drain with wiper fuse/relay pulled and with it re-installed. Sounds like the multi-switch or wiper switch has a bad wire or shorted circuit.
Any garage can check for a power drain very easily. don-ohio (:^)

How is 2001 Mustang GT parasitic draw on battery related somehow to FU 27 and FU39? Battery drains overnight but I cannot narrow down a faulty component.

Allfordmustangs.com has an article if you Web search your car with fuse 27 and 32 as part of the search. It blames the GEM as part of the problem(wiper) and also points out that the radio has several power feeds. Fuse 27 is hot all the time, but fuse 32 is only hot in ACC or Run. So as long as you can test fuse 32 to be hot in only Acc or Run, it should not drain the battery in Off position. You might want to test the ignition switch to verify it is really turned off.

The all mustangs article had different symptoms, as you did not indicate whether the fuses popped.

The wiper motor is suppose to derail and turn off. If you can unplug the wiper motor overnight and the battery stays up, you would know that it is either the wiper motor or wiper control. The radio is on the other fuse circuit. But whether the radio can drain a battery in a short time, you need to measure draw, but if the fuse pops, the battery should stay up. Again, disconnecting a circuit like a radio, and then having the battery stay up, would point to the radio circuit being at fault.

Someting is draining power from battery

Hi polusia82,
I see that something is draining the power from your cars battery.
Possible that something is having a short in your cars wiring, this can be the radio, the wipers, signal light, headlights cigarette lighter or the starter.
To be able to tell check each of your cars devices light car radio turn them on one by one to see the short, if there is a short you will notice it since it will also power the other function at the same time you power ON a certain item, Let me give an Example; if your turn the Head lights ON then the wiper as well turns on then there is a short there, something like that.
Also you can remove the battery connections then clean the contacts as well, check all you wiring, check all the fuses of your car.
I hope this helps.
Have a nice day,

Battery is draining,codes 9318,9352,d900, any help 2005mountainer

DTC 9318 is a fault code for incorrect battery voltage. If the ecu is reading low battery voltage then regardless of what is happening at the battery or the alternator, the ecu will be undervoltage and all the readings from the sensors will likely to be misinterpreted. The othe codes are related to the voltage code. Inspect the battery connections and the TPS since that also controls the voltage regulator through the ECM. The other thing that can cause the drain to your battery is the battery it self, if it's past 5 years. The battery may have got to the end of it's life and needs to be replaced casue it can no longer hold a charge. The other common battery drain is the rear wiper motor, if the wiper was used. It's common for the wiper regulator may be worn and when the wipers are turned off and the wipers are in the down positon. The regulator may not regester that the wiper is where it should be and will keep the power on to try to bring it where it should be when off. This will drain the battery, try removing the fuse to the wipers over night and see if you still have the battery drain to check if it's and wiper moter or not. Good luck and hope this helps, but i am leaning towards a new battery if it's been in there for over 4 years.

2005 ford expedition rear wiper

Sounds like a problem within the wiper motor not turning off at rest or not reaching it's rest point to be able to turn itself off, probably needs a new motor. Disconnecting it should have no relation to the front washer operation, you can confirm this by reconnecting the wiper motor to try.

Front wipers worked sporadically, then died altogether.

Hi! Yes the problem is related. The wiper motor is shorting out, which is causing it to work periodically and is also causing a drain on the battery.
