Hi,
Just the other day when my wife was driving our most reliable SUV to the mall and the car stopped idling and the all the warning lights came up and two (2) are very noticable, 1. High Temp 2. Low Oil Pressure. She then shut-off the igntion and proceed to the park position and waited for about 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, she proceed to start the vehicle and the vehicle started without any warning signs and acted like nothing ever happed to the car.
We have been driving for about a week now without any issues whatsoever.
Anyone had this happened to your Mercury Mountaineer? The dealership told me that they have never heard of such issue before.
Thanks for your feedback.

I am having the same problem. Changed the pressure switch and that didnt help.
It is the oil sending unit ....located right next to the oil filter on the block

I have the same "High Temp & Low Oil Pressure" problem on my '04 Mountaineer.
We're dealing with this problem right now, except ours is completely dead. Engine doesnt even click. We have it in the shop and they're saying the computer is bad, but everything you listed happened immediately prior to the car dieing. We're getting a second opinion.
