SOURCE: No bus

have ran into this problem before. the cluster was the problem. was a big thing with the jeeps. best bet is to get a used one from a salvage yard. the mileage is saved in the ecm. and is cheaper then a new one.

SOURCE: 999 Dodge Durango stalling and getting the NO BUS

Hi,
I had the same problem stalling losing all power shuts down and dangerous. I first thought fuel systems because it would crank but not start. After a a bit it would start up go for awhile then die again with" no bus" showing on the dash. After reading on line about so many others with the same problem I ordered a computer for 249.99+ tax recieved it out of FL(solo automotive electronics ) a few days later and installed it my self (very simple 5 min job) it fixed the problem and now seems to run and shift smoother(and no stalling) . I read countless stories of dealers failing to solve this problem costing people from $800+ for parts and labor that were not needed and then finally replace the PCM (computer) I hope this help save you some time money and frustration.

SOURCE: 2001 blazer wont start . gas gauge quit working

Sounds like the ignition switch has gone bad and will need to be replaced. Turn the ignition switch to the on position again and check to see if there is power to other items like the transmission and accessories. If there are a few items that are not working, good chance that the ignition switch has gone bad and is there any security light on the dash flashing???

Thank you for using fixya and keep us posted.

2004 dodge durango fuel gauge not working. Put gas in, gauge will not go up on the gauge in the dash

The sending unit in the fuel tank could be bad or the gauge in the cluster , or a wiring problem . Testing would need to be done to know for sure . Watch youtube videos on basic electrical trouble shooting . Fuel Gauge Tech How To Properly Diagnose Faulty Fuel Pump Sending Unit

Fuel Gauge wont move past 3/4 tank even with full tank

There is no easy fix.
Either the gauge on the dash is faulty, or the sending unit in the tank.
The sending unit uses a float which may be getting stuck at the 3/4 mark.

Wont start

Sounds like a wiring problem at the gas tank.
I would check for voltage and ground for the fuel pump and the sending unit for the gauge.

My 99 dodge durango has a 'no bu5' code on the mileage abd it wont start at all. how do i fix this?

No bus message on the instrument cluster mean's there is a serial data bus problem . All the module's (computers) on your vehicle are connected on the CCD data network . They share information on the network . A shorted bus wire , a module malfunctioning an bring down the network can cause modules not to send and receive data which would cause a no start .

My 97 S-10 Blazer fuel guage wont work

Likely, it's the sender unit in the tank. To check wiring and your dash gauge, you can pull apart the connector at the fuel tank, find the wire for the gauge sender unit (its color coded-I dont kinow what the one for your car would be), and on the harness side(the one going to front of vehicle) use a jumper wire and ground that wire to the car frame(get me? you want to ground the wire going to your dash gauge)-with key on, your gauge working properly will move up to half-way or even full. That tells you your dash gauge is working and your wiring to gauge is good. If gauge doesn't move when grounded(double check for a good ground), then your dash gauge may be bad.

Driving along it just died. added gas but when it died it did not sputter or cough. wont start. gauges seem to work except the gas gauge dont come up when key is on. fuel pump?

Yes it is most likely the fuel pump. the gauge is integrated with the pump, the sending unit is built into the pump assembly located in the fuel tank.

2001 dodge durrango check gages light comes on why

When the check gages light comes on just after start up usually one or more gages have momentarily not picked up yet. Dodges are famous for this. If the light stays on for more than 10 seconds and all gages are working t could be a faulty sending unit or you may have to get the computer software reloaded at a dealer

Abs brake light on wont shift until speedometer starts working

Could be your Speed sensor that would make the abs light come on because its not sensing the speed you are traveling. I have no Idea why when your gas gauge is on empty it won't shift. May be its the speed sensor and it was just happened to do it right when you where on empty. Does the speedometer work right or is it erratic? Let me Know this sound like and interesting problem I would like to work on and trouble shoot. Your ECM may be going too. There is so much going on Its hard to tell. But I would make sure the speed sensor is working properly first, Ok Talk at you soon. Thanks Bear001... Oh Yeah make sure all fluids are up and in good condition
