I have been attempting to remove the door panels off of my 2004 hyundai accent so that I can replace the speakers. It has electric windows and locks (the locks are run by the driver's lock mechanism).
I have removed all of the screws, including the one in the door handle inset, and have popped all of the plastic snaps. The panel is free to move except for the part around the door handle mechanism.
What do I need to do to remove the panel?
I've called a dealership and they suggested that a black cir clip might be there, but there isn't, and then they said to try and get enough room to pop the cables off of the door handle. I tried the latter, and I think that that is probably too difficult, and there must be an easier way. (also I would be concerned about being able to reach up in there and re-hook everything up, because I can't even see what I'm doing.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
STOP!!! there is no need to break the inner door handle!!! The inner door handle is secured in place with three prongs yes, but they do not need to be broken to remove it. They are secured by inserting them into place and sliding back. To remove simply slide forward and pull out.
This takes some wiggling but it will come eventually. also take note that this should be done after removing all screws and loosening and unhooking the door panel itself. To get the panel off around the inner handle, turn the panel 90deg and slide the handle back through its opening.
Good Luck
On the inside door handle there are three plastic prongs that lock into door you must pry
the door handle off,you will break off the prongs so order a new door handle first. You
can get one on the internet for about 16.00 shipping included

Access to the tail light cluster should be through panels in the rear corners of the vehicle. Remove the panel and you can remove the tail light cluster to replace the bulbs. This is the position on most sedans, unless, like on pick-ups, the tail light lenses have screws which allow the lenses to be removed to change the bulbs.
If it's the factory equiped stereo, you'll hafta remove the front interior panel to access the stereo mount. There may be a couple screws to loosen but mainly it's held on by some plastic studs that will snap off when you pull the panel out. (you'll need to pull pretty hard to get them to break off). after you've replaced/fixed the radio, you will need to obtain new mounting studs from Hyundai to reinstall the panel (most auto parts stores don't carry them).
The control panels are often held in place by either spring tensioners or some built into the plastic frame of the panel and can be pried up and out.
They pretty much depend on gravity to keep it in place.
Once free of the panel, turning it may allow it to be passed through the hole in which it normally resides.
I would try first to pry with an old credit or bank card before resorting to metal tools.
yes remove the panel, unhook the linkage one for the lock and one for the latch remove linkage from the handle not the latch, then remove blots holding handle then remove handle from outside the door, you will have to swap the lock to the new handle and then install new handle.
Since the 3 other doors respond to your keyless remote, this points to a failure in the door's power lock motor.
Repairing this yourself can be done, given that you are able to access the part itself, and can diagnose servo/motor failures.
You must take great care in removing the door panelling. This is often attached to the metal frame via plastic pegs that can break when removed forcefully. You can ease them out with the help of a flat(blade) screwdriver. Start from the part with the smallest sq.area and work your way down.
Hyundai often places plastic caps to cover screw heads, so look for these to completely remove the door panel.
If you find this too tedious to accomplish, it is best seek assistance of a qualified technician.
The fuel filter on a 2005 Hyundai Accent depending on where it was manufactured and when, is possibly external and on the outside of the fuel tank directly above the fuel pump and accessible by removing the back seat. Or it is actually inside the fuel tank and requires removing the back seat, the metal panel, the fuel pump itself and then accessing the filter. Your vin. no. can determine which model you have and of course how much work you'll have to do
remove door panel which is attached by screws, peel away plastic liner and look inside door at back of door handle..using needle nose pliers pop off the small steel rods that are for inside door mechanism, then remove the one bolt that attaches the handle to the inside of door and from outside of door remove handle.Replace in reverse order!
It's not impossible people! You will however need more than just a screwdriver. This is for a 2004 Hyundai Accent 3 door (i.e. Hatchback) Open the rear door to get to the stop light assembly. Directly under (or above now that the door is open and it is upside down) the light case is a small rectangular panel that you can snap out using a flathead screwdriver. Once removed you should see 4 hex bolts. Remove these (a ratchet is the easiest way to go) and you should be able to pull the light case free of its mount. NOTE: You will notice two pegs or tabs helping to keep the case in place, a bit a wiggling may be needed to free them. Once it is hanging free, you will need to remove the 6 screws on the bottom holding the case together. With these removed the back should come off and you can get to the bulb. The replacement bulb I purchased was a Sylvania Long Life number 921. Pull the old bulb out (it may need some force/wiggling but be careful not to break it), and slide the new bulb into place. I would recommend checking that the new bulb is functioning at this point, while everything is still disassembled. If everything is working... then replace the bottom cover, replace the 6 screws, slide the whole case back into place, replace the 4 bolts, and finally snap the panel cover back into place. This whole process should take no longer than 20 minutes. Hope this helps... Cheers!
