I suggest that you look for secondary voltage leaks from the ignition system. Moisture causes dirt to become a pathway for this spark voltage. Look inside all wire connections, for any corrosion. A scope can test this, but typically a home does not have a scope...

if it only does this in damp weather, its more likely its in the ignition system. if it has a distributor check the cap for moisture and cracks. if it does have a cap. spray wd-40 inside cap to displace the moisture. WD stands for water displacement. when its dry outside and engine running. get a spray bottle and fill it with water, spray the dist. cap and wires. if there is a problem the car will chug and almost stall out. if this happens, thats the problem. have a good day !!

most likely cause is water intrusion through the cabin filter

pull the filter
if wet then you need to find something that diverts water away
many OEM's have had this problem but nothing on file for this vehicle

spray your distributor wires and cap with silicone spray. If this does not work you will have to replace distributor cap as it will have a hair line crack in it.

its humidity that penetrates the iginition coil.check your wires,coil pack and spark plugs.have you changed them recently.it might be time for a tune up.

It is likely that your front oxygen sensor is getting wet.

I have a 2000 Astro had the same troubles.I saw that the sides of the coil were burned looking.In between the bar that goes around it. This started around 110K It would run badly when wet or high humidity.Then throw up the check engine lite.Put on a new coil so far the problem has no reocured.

Clean the throttle body thoroughly with carb cleaner - and unbolt the air flow unit and do same to that (gauze gets clogged -unit is bolted to front of throttle body with two bolts & a couple of small water hoses to it as well as wires). Just possible that air flow sensor is getting damp & is the final push to it thinking that engine is still cold, which enriches the petrol mixture (chokes), hence stalling attitude. Lights could be the Oxygen sensor (or others) reading appalling exhaust mixtures, due to over-rich mixture.

perhaps you need a new cap and roter a new spark plug wire set. they don;t like moisture. also check to see if you have any broken or leaking vacuum hoses. the worse case senerio would be that your head gasket is leaking--at cold temps a little antifreeze will enter until everything warms up and it seals shut due to metal expanding. but since you say it's cold weather only--this probably wou;dn't be the case. good luck.
