Hi...can a Chevrolet Optra 1.6 2005 model bend the valves when the timing belt breaks.

Every engine can... it happens when you try and restart the car... when the engine is running and the timing belt breaks everything is moving so it doesn't usually damage anything... when everything is stopped your piston slams into the valves and bends them. He'll of a big job

Hello: Thank you, my problem is similar problem is with Optra Design, but you change the Oxygen Sensor, MAF Sensor, Fuel Pump and still the fault persists engine revolutions down to almost driving off in full , I turn it off and return to continue driving for a while and fails again

check engine lights can come on for a variety of reasons anything from low oil to a **** miss fire or a low voltage reading on a scencer i would have the computer scanned for any codes and cleared.

I have the exact same problem as you do with my 2004 optra and it happened just over 3 weeks ago.

How have you made out? I have to disconnect the battery and I'm going to try and call chevrolet if I can find the answer

When in gear and driving.The transmission drops out of gear. By moving the shifter to drive 3 the transmission is engaged. Chevrolet Optra 2007 is not listed in the select car schedule

what is the mileage on your car? and how much abuse does the car get? this is indicative of internal transmission damage, if you can you should take it to you local chevy dealership, or a trusted mechanic because this is highly technical work. unless you feel like taking your transmission apart yourself, in that case here is whats wrong. 1. your transmission linkage is out of adjustment due to either abuse or some parts are worn, or 2. or your transmission output shaft pilot bearing is damaged, causing excessive play and "Batting" your lever out of gear.

Don't know what blinking light on dashboard mean

if the blinking light looks a cross section of a tire with a exclamation mark in it almost like this (_!_) it is just about the only one that blinks. its tire pressure light chk your air in all tires
