Hydraulic clutch can be adjusted at the pedal, most likely you have a worn clutch

SOURCE: is there an adjustment the clutch is slipping in

lower gear ration in higher gears, like climbing a hill, lessens the mechanical advantage and causes the slippage which will soon be in lower gears too. Clutch is hydraulic, not adjustable, you need a clutch replacement, along with all the other wear parts in the bell housing.

What does it mean when my transmission is slipping in first gear and how do i fix it?

is it slipping in way that engine revs hard but car barely moves? if so take car for short drive get up to 30mph in 3rd gear on flat road and floor accelerator, if it slips now then there good chance clutch will need replaced soon, if only in first try pumping pedal firmly and frequently for a minute or so to see if the auto adjust ratchet will release some cable tension, if its an older car s reg for example some of these cars havew a manual adjustment normally at gearbox where cable fits the clutch release lever, normally its two 10mm nuts, one either side of clutch lever, for your problem i would release some tension, prob only 2-3 full turns of nut, this will allow clutch plate to correctly grip flywheel, be sure to road test once adjustment made to confirm simple and smooth selection of all other gears, also dont forget to wind other 10mm bolt up against the one you altered to prevent further unwanted adjustment to cable as over time engine vibrations could cause them to move if not locked off properly.

My 1984 ford ranger clutch is slipping, How do I adjust the clutch to see if this solves thr problem before I buy a new clutch

ten years is about all the life you can expect out of a clutch, your car is going on 30 and this should be at least the 3rd replacement. the adjustment on non hydraulic is to take the slop out of the linkage, not to increase the "grab" on the clutch plate.

1994 toyota pickup 4x4 22re 4 cl. I replace the engine and clutch. Onces the truck is run for about 30 mins. I find it stiff in getting to ist gear after a stop. I also sometimes hear the gear grinding...

It sounds like your clutch isn't releasing properly. Do you need to adjust the pedal free play or bleed the hydraulics? If that doesn't fix it you may need take another look at the clutch you put in.

2nd 3rd gear slips can bands be adjusted?

Again, most modern automatics don't have adjustment bands they are electro hydraulically controlled, in this case you did not even give a car make model or year. I have to assume it is automatic as that is not stated... But if it is a standard the clutch is slipping.... My suggestion is take it to a pro or exchange the tranny with a reputable rebuilder and a warranty.... Sorry and Good Luck!

Clutch sliding or slippage

Chech the free play on the clutch pedal it could be to tight. If so adjust the pin in wards of the clutch master under the dash board so that has free play.
