The garage door opener sits inside a small storage space that is accessed by opening a small cover that is mounted on pivots to open and close, the pivots on this cover have broken from use so I need to replace the cover, so what is the process to gain access to the cover since it is mounted within a roof trim piece?

usually the only parts you can get is either the glass or module. even from a salvage yard. So knowing this look to replace the whole module. it can be expensive. the headliner must be dropped, wires disconnected drain tubes, and bolts removed. once new is installed it must be synced.

There is a triangular piece, at top corner, covering a screw behind the mirror. Remove that screw. Remove the piece that covers the handle and remove the screw holding the handle to the door. Look through, where door handle was and remove another screw just above where the handle was. This screw is holding the panel to the actual door. Pop the cover off for the automatic door locks and disconnect them. Lift the panel in an upward direction.

Look under your steering wheel right under the dash. There should be a small white strip with 5 numbers. This is your master code for your vehicle. If you bought the car used and they give you a code, they could have made their own code, but the master will override it. If this don't help, the module for the doors may be going bad.
