2004 avalanche poping

Double check your front end for binding including the intermediate steering shaft. If all check good then the problem is your steering box mounted to the frame at the pitman arm

It may be in the steering box and pitman arm which is the arm that comes off the steering box, if you have a rack in pinion set up you may have to have it check out as well front end alignment should have caught that.. Idle arms should also be checked. If not then look into steering Colum tilt wheel make sure nothing is warn out and working properly. Depends on year and make will determine what setup you have which was not mentioned so Hope this helps

ON THE STEERING COLUMN.. BETWEEN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE DASH ON THE COLUM ON THE TOP..

There is more pressure on the line when turning right, therefor more effort is needed by the power steering pump. You either need power steering fluid added, or a new power steering pump.

Any codes? Try first to check could be a code.

had same problem with my 2003 gmc seirra 2500hd took it to dealer when it was under warrenty could not find a problem but i think thereis a bearing at the bottom of the steering colume my truck stopped doing it go figure

YOUR VECHICLE HAS THE HYDRALIC BOOSTER.WHICH YOU POWER STEERING PUMP CONTROL BRAKING SYSTEM.CHECK POWER STEERING PUMP FLIUD LEVEL.IF LOW CHECK POWER STEERING PUMP HOSES FOR LEAKS.IF YOU FIND NO LEAKS.THE HYDRALIC BOOSTER OR POWER STEERING PUMP FAULTY.

check for a blown power steering line, lack of fluid in the power steering reservoir, and check to see if the pump is blown. i believe the brake boost on this truck is assisted by the pressure and flow of the power steering pump. also check for leaks on steering gear box

Check power steering fluid level.
Power steering pump provides hydraulic assistance to you brakes.
if the level is low, add fluid and check if there is a leak somewhere.
If the level is OK, suspect a bad power steering pump.

The sensor is part of the ignition key lock cylinder, so the part and labor will be around $200-$300 depends on your local labor rate, the dealer must do this repair because the new lock cylinder key code must be programmed into the VATS module.
