Hi there, I have a 2000 Ford Expedition the Eddie Bauer Edition and I've had this vehicle since 2003. I have this clicking sound on the driver's side rear end of the vehicle. The sound is coming from the tire area. It only occurs when the vehicle is turning or driving slowly. The engine light isn't on, but I have had air suspension problems in the past, so just wondering if anyone can help?
We just recently purchased a 2000 Expedition. It is wonderful shape but it has started making a ticking noise from under the hood , when you start it. Can anyone help us?
Check the parking brake shoes on the rear. You have to remove the disc. It is common for the brake pads to come loose from the brake shoe (I don't know why). They slide around and make a clicking noise at slow speeds as they slide and knock into each other. Centrifugal force keeps them from sliding as you increase speed.
If you have had air suspension problems in the past, it could be that problem. My air suspension went down in my 2000 expedition they said i should have noticed signs but I didnt pay it any attention. The deal costs was too expensive. I went to strutmasters.com and bought a conversion kit that eliminated the air and fixed my expedition and saved me a couple thousand dollars with a lifetime warranty.

Check rear axle on the driver side and check the fluid in the transfer case and also check the brake calipers and there is also a rear pad inside of the router if the pads a bad you will get a clicking noise
