We have the same proplem and replaced the sensor didnt help. Could there be another reason the car will do this? ( this was the one on the front right side of transmission).

This is the result of the Transmission Output Sensor failure. The new part is around $20. Labor ? s/b less than one hour. I had the same problem with my 1999 LHS. The dealer wanted to remove and replace the tranny for $2400. I towed it to private mech and he did the job for $200. This is a VERY FREQUENT problem with chrylser cars as many share the same sensor. The problem is usually called "Transmission going limp". Hey, if your engine starts to die and the tacho goes to zero, your crankshaft sensor is going also.
