I got a 2000 grandcaravan an it stuck in 2 nd gear codes are 1784 0732 1782 0731 0700 0500 do i need to replace trnny or computer ?

Vtec is honda name for VVT, valve variable timing, and is not a transmission part at all so is off topic if we want to do 1 at a time.

vtech bad causes huge engine power loss, for sure stuck in idle mode. so lets end that here.

2 cables clutch release snapped i gear. makes it hard to shift if you do not move car bay hand to N./ (a trick to lean 2 man job) as all tow truck drivers know for 100 years.

box means transmission box in whole.,, mech jargon.
all this is pure mechanics 101 problem shifting any M/T is.

That's called "limp-in" mode and indicates a major failure. Get it to a shop to have the trouble codes read

Second gear is considered a limp mode other possible causes is the solenoid pack hook up a scanner and check trans codes.

Run the fault codes as it appears the CPU is putting the car into limp / reduced power mode because of a sensor finding that may be detrimental to the engine /gear box.

P1705: Short in Transmission Range Switch Circuit.
So you changed the switch but didn't fix the short in the circuit. Check the wiring harness or connector for a short. Follow the harness and look for chaffed insulation or rubbing.

Try flushing your Transmission, hopefully this will clean the gunk out of your Transmission Valves and STUCK SOLENOID....

I recently had that issue with my 99 intrepid. I changed the input and output speed sensors. they cost 130. for both. and now it no longer gets stuck in 2 nd gear and drives more smooth.

if it is stuck in low gear suspect a speed sensor issue.If it is stuck in a higher gear such as 2nd or 3rd you will need to retrieve codes from the trans computer to diagnose.

The output speed sensor is located on top of the transmission output shaft, this will send speed value to the transmission control module (TCM).
The vehicle speed sensor is installed on the differential of the transmission, and sends speed value to speed gauge on instrument cluster.

Check also IAC valve and look for vacuum leaks using an hand tool gauge(Vacuum Gauge and Fuel Pump Pressure).

P1723 A/t control relay - Stuck on.
This Code is showing that the main control relay of the transmission is stuck on. When that happens transmission goes in to the fail safe mode which is being stuck in 3rd gear to prevent damage to the transmission
