HelloI have a cavalier and had changed the fuel pump about 10,000 miles ago. It won't start (all of a sudden), it has spark and will start if you feed it fuel. How likely would it be the fuel relay switch and can those be checked. Like I said the pump only has about 10,000 miles on it, fuses are fine, etc. The last time I did start it (it sits in my garage and not driven, only started every couple of months and brought up to temp), it coughed, puked, ran very rough until I gave it throttle for a bit. It had never done that before in the 20 years I've owed it, Thank you, Ron

Check your O2 sensors. They will give that affect and work only when your engine heats up. If the car cools down and starts up again, that is a sign that your O2 sensors are shot. Replace them.

replace the batery cables (they corode in the middle and, look fine on the outside but, when you cut them in half they are filled with gray corosion dust; causing very high resistance.

you may be getting fuel but you are starving the cylinders from it. after sitting this long, i would replace the injectors because they will corode inside after 7 years. agood injector cleaner might work but they are probably too far gone. you might have sent a lot of corosion from the fuel tank the first time you ran it & that will add to total shut down of the fuel injectors. also check your oil pressure, or it may jump on timing due to stiff cam bearings. depending on klts, it would be good to use slightly heavier oil grade. you may also want to check your ignition coil for proper supply to plugs. bin there, dun that.
