The battery started running out and died suddenly. Now using spare, I am trying to fix the other, but manual says take it to a LDV dealer for re-code!!! (guess when they wrote it they did't know LDV where broke and going to the cleaners!!) Can anyone help sorting my problem and is a bit frustrating. Help!
Hi
I know from experience that you cannot really re synch these fobs on the LDV Maxus vans.
What actually is the fault is an onboard component on the pcb has failed and we normally just replace that with a new one..the fob will be tested for operation and sent back. OR its the Relay in the ESA unit - under the left hand front glovebox on the bulkhead - black with cables going into it. We have those relays (soldered to the pcb) we can supply those or do the work for you. The fob connects to that ESA and the unit then fires the relays to open/close the doors. Sometimes that unit is installed upside down which causes water (condensation) to enter the box and have fun with your electrics.
The fob is SYNCHED to this unit via coding we can use your old fob to clone to a new fob and that will work with the ESA and the vehicle.
We have the parts on this link Items for sale from remobilise ltd
Here is a link to how to program the fob to the vehicle via the programmer - NOTE how you MUST have a working fob to program another (text at the start of the video... LDV Maxus flv
We can fix most problems on the LDV Maxus that occur with faults to do with the Central locking/fobs/ESA/ETACS - three relays are in the ESA and they control ONLY the central locking - two more relays are in the ETACS unit (behind the ashtray) and they control the fogs and intermittant wipers.

Excellent help info and great links. Thanks for that.
Thanks George - UPDATE: We can NOW program new fobs to a ESA (central locking unit) on the LDV Maxus EVEN if you have NO existing fobs...by the way - the fobs do not lose sync with the ESA unit -what happens is that an SMD component on the fob PCB fails. Even though the fob light ups and seems to transmit it is garbled. We can sort that fob or replace it with a brand new one and program that on the workbench on our own specially built jig. We can also program the transponder keys to the immo box - no need to come to us or use expensive Auto locksmiths on call outs to you.See our eBay page here for more info:http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/remobilise.ltd... I answered this in a previous link:

If the key had gone faulty, the key code must be re programmed on the vehicle computer. This can be done only using a PIWIS tool, available at the dealer or at a qualified Porche garage.
Try also the following reset:
turn ignition on,
turn off.
remove
the transponder from the column
push any button on the fob within 6
seconds.
This procedure will reset the key synchronizing again with the vehicle computer.

If it is a factory keyless system than you do need it done by the dealer, but if it is an after market system then reply back with manufacture and model.

Try unlocking the the door with the key and then lock and then unlock again the may disable the security system

sounds like it could be the pressure control valve on the fuel pump not an expensive repair. the pressure drops in the line over night. try priming the filter whilst the engine is being cranked. the control valve is held on by 3 torx screws on the end of the pump.
