This is a bad sign, usually means that the first gear in the transmission is out.

There is a good chance that the two are not related. These engines are known for having timming chain issues.How many miles are on the car? Have you had the timing chains and guides serviced yet? I would make sure all timing marks still lign up.

No, there should be a plug next to the passenger side axle that indicates level. The easiest way to get the level correct is to go ahead and service the trans. Replace the filter and refill with 7 quarts.

lift front of vehicle secure jack stands remove right front wheel strut mount bolts ,outer tie rod end ,remove speed sensor for movement of spindle remove axle nut swing spindle away and feed axle from hub remove carrier bearing mounted at block pull axle out reinstall in reverse order torque axle nut to 105ftlbs

front left is the drivers side. remove the wheel, remove the axle nut, disconnect and separate the ball joint, remove the axle from the spindle then pull the axle out of the transmission, you will loose some transmission fluid.

Remove the transmission oil pan to get access to the filter. Be prepared to perform other necessary adjustments if you go to this trouble. This job is better done professionally. But that was not your question.

Please don't kill the messenger, but this is not an easy procedure as access to change the headlamp bulbs is through the wheel well. The recommended method is to remove the front tire and then the plastic inner fender liner. Once removed, you'll have easy (more or less) access to the rear of the headlamp housing.

There's a website that has all this information about all this and manuals everything totally free there are many actually but I personally like few
