Try cleaning the MAF sensor. Computer uses that info to determine pump pressure. If that doesn't work, you're looking at a new tranny

The factory specs for the Transmision Shifting Positioner would be different TSP adjustment should need to be tighter in Looser out I know it seems backwards but that is how it works. If I am hauling I bring it in and vise versa I believe 99 have a TSP Cable. on the throttle body.if not your transmission kit might have a problem.

04 impala transmission slipping a lil is there a possible easy fix, or simple solution to look fo??

change filter ,fluid and gasket --fresh filter and fluid may save ypu if the transmission is not totally burnt up also a additive like lukas oil helps the following link shows how to change filter in an impala it is easier to drain the trans by putting a pan under and loosen the bolts and leave 2 in and pry opposite side and slowly tilt pan down to drain than remove all bolts and clean out pan

Transmission slipping sometimes could it be bad CV

Automatic transmission slipping is usually a result of old or insufficient transmission oil . When was the last time you changed this and installed a new filter. If that does not fix it you have worn bands or torque converter. CV joints don't slip they fail and usually after considerable noise.

Transmission slips in d &od with steam in cab

transmission slipping could be low transmission fluid level or need a transmission fluid and filter change.if transmission fluid was real low check for transmission fluid leaks around transmission oil pan gasket or fluid leaks around cooler lines or torque converter shaft seal. if you getting steam inside cab.your heater core is leaking.if transmission fluid level okay and filter been changed could have faulty over drive switch.

Transmission slips after engine warms up

It isn't when the engine gets hot, it is when the transmission fluid gets hot that the slipping starts, due to wear of the clutches and gears inside the transmission.
First, check the fluid level to make sure it is full. If it is low, bring fluid level to full and see if that helps.
About all the owner can do with slipping automatics is trying a transmission fluid and filter change to see if transmission revives and stops slipping. The bottom pan is removed, fluid (about 6-8 quarts) is drained, and a new filter is installed before the pan is replaced with a new gasket, sealed up, and fresh fluid added. Sometimes it helps. Sometimes the transmission is worn too bad to help, and you are left with looking for a replacement transmission.
Check the fluid level first. Good luck.

Chevy dealership did a trany flush at 100,000 miles didnt change filter. ****** slips now. should they have changed the filter?

  • A transmission flush is a separate service from a transmission filter/gasket replacement. They should have informed you of this without a doubt but as to should they have done both... the two usually are a separate service. I usually recommend the pan gasket/filter and you loose about a third of the transmission fluid so it is a nice partial drain and fill as well and do a power transmission fluid power flush in between times. I have seen vehicles where the transmission filter was so bad that after a flush the car would not move, had to do the filter as well. So I would suggest getting that replaced.

I have oil in radiator ,transmission slips

Does the oil in the radiator look reddish? likely it does...You most likely have a failure inside the radiator where the trans cooler coil runs through it. Replace radiator and have trans fluid changed and flushed. If slipping continues trans will need a rebuild. (hope not)

Chevy avalanche transmission problems

Hello;
Are you getting the check engine light? If so the electronics may have gone out. You may not need a rebuild but you won't know till you pull the oil pan on the transmission and inspect the contents. You may also have lost the neutral safety switch. It is mounted on the drivers side of the transmission. Check those out first and let me know what codes you get.
For Ponchoboy; the clunking and hissing you hear are teminal root causes. Drop the oil pan and if it has a lot of filings and metal it is time for a rebuild.
Hope this helps; Rate me highly;

Trany would slip at high speed and sometimes if i got on it hard. It was just doing it maybe once every 4/6 months, until one day i was driving to work. I was goig 75 mph and all of a sudden i lost every...

Have the vehicle scanned for diagnostic trouble codes,and repair any codes.More than likely the trans needs a rebuild.If the fluid smelled burnt,then obviously clutches or bands are burnt inside the trans.Changing the fluid just got rid of the smell,whatever is burnt is still hurnt.It is best to stop driving the vehicle,as continuing to drive it will just cause more damage to whatever is damaged.Those transmissions are prone to pump problems too.
