When I parked my jeep it was working fine. When I cranked it up the next morning the spedometer or odometer was not working.
SOURCE: Jeep wrangler Fuse box
i had the same problem. i drive a 95 so im not sure if it differs from were the fuse box is. look righ above you pedals to your far left. it should be right there. also if you instruments went out it will be a 15 fuse. its a blue fuse. next my panel went out cuz of the wires on my transmission. if yor looking at your jeep at the front. the wires will be on your left. make sure they are not burned or anything. it will be right on the side of your tranny. mind got burned by the exaust so they were shorting. check that is and see if that is what is it. for a temp fix just put some electrical tap around the wires and you should be set for a wile. good luck

The sensor for the speedometer is in the tailshaft of the transmission its called a vss vehicle speed sensor, all you have to do is unplug the plug and unthread it and replace.
SOURCE: no BUS on odometer
I used to have the NoBUS show up on the odometer also, but always while driving. The immediate fix was a sharp rap on the top of the cluster with my fist. To fix it permanently, I removed the cluster, cleaned the contacts both cluster and harness with spray contact cleaner, then applied some dielectric grease to prevent any further corrosion.

Check the coolant sensor, cam and crank sensor and make sure they are all plugged in.
