What a piece of ****! The foreign cars don't have this problem, but buy and american truck that they have been making forever and you'll get a piece of ****. Why? So they can take you to the cleaners and cry when no one wants to buy their product! They know it's bad and they choose not to fix the problem! Good buisness practices! They ****!

I had this same problem. What I did to resolve it was to slap the underside of the fan housing (in the passenger floor board) until the blower came back on. The fan/blower housing is that big black box right under the glove compartment. I know that sounds stupid, but I think there is a plug above the blower that is not making a good connection, so when I slapped it upwards it reseated itself and the blower came back on.

this worked for me also just moved the harness a little bit and it came on instantly. called dealer no recal.

I CHECKED POWER TO MY FAN AND RESISTER BY UNPLUGGING THE RESISTER WHICH IS A LITTLE CHIP THAT PLUGS INTO THE BLOWER FAN. I USED A BATTERY CHARGER AND TOUCHED THE PRONGS TO THE E TERMINAL AND ALL OF THE OTHER TERMINALS. E TERMINAL IS THE GROUND AND A,B,C,D,F ARE THE BLOWER SPEEDS. THE FAN SHOULD KICK ON WHEN YOU HIT ANY OF THOSE TERMINALS WITH THE JUMPER CABLE PART OF THE BATTERY CHARGER. I HAD POWER THAT WAY SO I REPLACED THE PLUG AND IT FIXED THE PROBLEM. MAKE SURE TO CHECK FUSES FIRST

I had the same problem, I removed cover under glove box, it has 4 screws holding. it. Then I unpluged the the connector and cleaned it, I aso bent the 3rd pin which goes to black wire and plugged it back up. This corrected the blower not working,it now works in all speeds.

Wiggle the connection that comes from the blower motor and the heater or ac should pop on.

It's usually caused by the blower motor or blower resistor going bad! They were cheap and GM knows of this problem! It effects 2004 - Present trucks! Dealship is the only place to get the new plug-in on the harness! it's usually about $50... The pricely cost is when they have to SOLDER on the new plug-in to aviod the black wire blowing off again! Again, I can't express SOLDER! It's the only way to fix it! and you should REPLACE the blower resistor in case it too was damaged! It may look fine but there really isn't anyway to be 100% sure other then to replace it... I know this is a real pain, but I haven;t heard anything bad after someone has SOLDERED that connection.... Has anyone heard of it going bad after a soldering?

I did what the above person did and got under the glovebox and wiggled ge connector to the blower, and it started working on all four speeds. thanks for the help, think I will still go to the dealership as it is suppose to be a recall item, I also hear if your unit is working they will not repair this, so I may have to wait for the problem to pop up again. thanks for the help above... Tim

What I have seen is the connector at the blower motor resistor melt from a poor connection. The repair is to replace the blower resistor and the connector to it. This is a common problem and banging on the bottom of the case only gives it a temp connection at best.

It sounds as if the blower motor relay is stuck, on your vehicle the relay is part of the blower motor resistor, the resistor is behind the glove box.I hope this helps. Take care. If you have more questions for me about this vehicle or if you just want to say Hi! use testimonial. Thanks

The fan/blower only works on the high setting.

It probably is the fan switch itself. They are around $30. for a new one. You can take it out and check to see if you have power to all the settings with a ohm meter or test light. They are not real hard to take out.

Ac doesnt work

Might be a loose connection - Or simply the blower motor - In which case the blower motor would need to be replaced.

Blower fan only works on high

If it is working at all then the relay and fuse is good and the problem is either the little vacuum hose on the back of the control switch panel or the panel itself.
