Ran for 2 seconds now will not start

Same thing happened to my '89 Dynasty. Turns out the security system was engaged and this stops the motor from running; therefore. a thief cannot drive away with the car! The system is set by using the power locks or an autolock fob, but not by locking manually. Disconnecting the battery will also engage the security system. To disengage, close the driver or passenger (front) door and turn the key in the lock.

You said you have fuel flowing from the inlet line of the injection pump? But not at the injector lines?

It sounds like it could be the transfer pump. Turn the key on and then crank the engine for about 1 second but leave the key in the run position and listen for the transfer pump to run. It should run for about 15 seconds after you stop cranking. If not, then you will need to replace the transfer pump with a in-the-tank conversion kit if your is mounted on the side of the engine block below the fuel filter housing. If you already have the in-the-tank pump then it might be siezed or the "sock" might be plugged up with alge or other contaminants. I usually lift the bed rather than removing the tank to replace the fuel module. If the check engine light is on you might want to have it scanned for codes to make sure since the modules can be spendy.

the regulator is bad or clogged fuel screen or just leaking/loosing fuel prime. try to key it up a few times to build prime before starting. no matter u need to replace the pump if its not holding 55psi at the fuel rail.
Testimonial: "Thanks for your reply. I was leaning toward replacing the fuel pump as well so thank you for the added assurance. Will try this now. Thanks! Diane"
