The engine is making a tink tink tink noise. Went to the dealer and found that it is related to the bearings being spun. The engine needs to be replaced. Is anyone else having this issue?
If it is a light ticking noise it could be something as simple as tappits on rocker arms. valves pinging..........IF it is a ticking and not a KNOCKING noise then i would have another mechanic take a look at it...Sad thing that happens is some mechanics will give wrong suggestion for the simple fact of making your wallet lighter.... not saying this is the caes but something this costly needs more than one mechanics opinion. My suggestion would be have another mechanic look at it not telling what the first mechanics opinion was and then see how they compare..... hope this info helps and good luck....Please rate my post.
I have a full tear down and they came back saying it is a spun bearing. That it is causing the sound and engine issues. I guess I am just looking to see if other people are having the issues. Then again I am trying to get it covered under the warranty and neither the dealer or Chrysler are releasing the notes on the inspection or how they came to their conclusions. Rather they are denying my claim and leaving nothing but their word for it. It has taken close to 30 days to find out this much...
That truely is a shame..Chrysler is famous for this as are others...I would suggest seeking a lawyer. I have a friend that had problem with transmission and was told same thing and contacted lawyer and guess what!! all of a sudden it was coverd and they replaced it....hope this helps and sorry.....

Since you aready paid $400, go back to ;the shop and get your $'S worth!! Unless someone can prove that the axle bgs were bad, you shoulld ask why pinion & side gears were not diagonsed!!! (dosen't anyone test drive stuff after they "fix" something anymore??? Dosen't anyone give a damn???
If you can't get anywhere with this, find a junkyard unit and install it yourself. It isn't that hard. Just be sure that new lone has the same mount points and gear ratio matches ratio lof front axle.(count gear teeth if you must)

It could be that you got some water on your serpentine belt and that will cause it to squeak. Try buying a can of "belt dressing" from an auto store and spray it all over your belt and see if that will stop it. It's a cheap and easy thing to try before replacing expensive parts. Hope this works for you, let me know how it goes. Goodluck!

You also could have received a bad axle. Sometimes the rebuilds don't hold good tolerance and can make the same noise you are trying to get rid of. Is it full-time 4wd? Maybe the driveshaft ujoint also.
