SOURCE: fan on intake will not shut off

There is a relay and yes it is controlled by a intake temp sensor, they will run a long time, up to 1 hour on a hot day, have you had the battery tested, maybe it is getting weak, but if that's not the case why not just disconnect the fan motor, that is what I did, had a similar problem.

2005 dodge stratus with 2.4 small intake fan wont shut off. Is there a easy part i can replace?

No really. Something is shorted and keeping the fan on. Could be a bad wire/s. Could be the fuse panel.

I have a 2005 dodge stratus that when i turn off the key there is a sound of a fan or motor running. The sound is coming from the top of the engine, its not the electric radiator fan

if you have a certain model of stratus there is a fan under the intake on the 2.4 engine. this fan blows air into the exhaust for emissions purposes. the circuit on these fans have a problem with not shutting off. i believe the dodge dealer installs a resister in this circuit to make it shut off. it can make your battery go dead if it dosnt shut off

Need to know where the crankshaftpositionsensor is located on a 2005 stratus 2.4lt engine

I am assuming your Stratus is a Sedan with the DOHC 4-cylinder engine. If so this might help. Do you know where your PCV valve is? (The PCV valve is on the driver-side of the engine up close to the top. It is a little black plastic cylinder with a vacuum tube coming out that goes up to the air intake fairing up near the fan.) The CSPS is right below the PCV valve. It has an electrical connecter with a little red release clip where the wires plug in. The sensor is about 3-4 inches wide and shaped like a rounded diamond with a raised circle in the middle. It is held on by 2 small bolts. I hope this helps.
