First of all, make sure that your brake fluid level is correct. The brake, traction, and ABS systems on these cars all work together and if one thing goes wrong in any one part of the system, all of those lights will come on at the same time. Check your brake fluid level and be sure to use the correct DOT 3 brake fluid. DO NOT SUBSTITUTE with any other fluid. Let me know if your brake fluid level is ok and we'll go from there.

SOURCE: 2001 Olds Aurora 3.5 . ABS,BRAKE,TRACTION OFF

Hi! Sometimes this is caused by a faulty abs sensor. Two things to deal with it... you can clean the contact and if no luck on it have it replaced. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

I have a 2008 Saturn outlook with 2w drive. I recently drove in wet weather a my Stabil Trak and traction control indicators

When the Stabilitrak and Traction Control indicators come on and stay illuminated in your 2008 Saturn Outlook, it typically indicates a problem with the vehicle's stability control system. This system helps maintain control and stability during adverse driving conditions, such as wet or slippery roads. There are several potential causes for these warning lights, and it's essential to address the issue promptly to ensure your vehicle's safety and performance. Here are some common reasons for the warning lights to stay on:
  1. Wheel Speed Sensor Issues: The Stabilitrak and Traction Control systems rely on information from wheel speed sensors to determine if a wheel is slipping or losing traction. If one of these sensors is malfunctioning or dirty, it can trigger the warning lights.
  2. Faulty ABS Module: The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) module is closely related to the stability control system. If there is a problem with the ABS module, it can affect the functionality of Stabilitrak and Traction Control.
  3. Damaged Wiring: Damage to the wiring that connects the wheel speed sensors to the control module can disrupt the communication and trigger the warning lights.
  4. Malfunctioning Control Module: The control module responsible for the stability control system can develop faults or errors over time.
  5. Brake System Issues: Problems with the vehicle's braking system, including worn brake pads, can sometimes lead to issues with the Stabilitrak system.
  6. Faulty Steering Angle Sensor: The steering angle sensor is part of the stability control system. A malfunction in this sensor can lead to warning lights.
  7. Low Fluid Levels: Low brake fluid levels can trigger the warning lights, as the stability control system may interpret it as a potential issue with the braking system.
To diagnose and address the problem, you should take your Saturn Outlook to a qualified mechanic or a dealership. They can perform a diagnostic scan using specialized equipment to pinpoint the exact issue that is causing the warning lights to stay on. Once the problem is identified, they can recommend the necessary repairs or replacements.
It's important not to ignore these warning lights, as the stability control system is designed to enhance vehicle safety and performance, particularly in adverse driving conditions. Addressing the issue promptly will help ensure the continued safe operation of your vehicle.

2007 Chevy Uplander with no codes, service traction control and service stability system messages. It also tells me that the traction control is off. This vehicle doesn't have traction control.

Question edited to add Maker.
Question move to year make model category.

For strange error messages like that you need an auto-electrician with a pro grade scan tool computer to find out which is the modules and sensors has failed and is reporting wrongly. A standard code reader isn't bi-directional and can't do this. If the vehicle is driving fine, you can just ignore it.

Can you help with multiple electrical issues??

This vehicle is equipped with the BOSCH 5.3 antilock braking system.
The vehicle is equipped with the following braking systems:
• Antilock Brake System (ABS)
• Dynamic Rear Proportioning (DRP)
• Traction Control System (ETS) (w/NW7)
• Traction Control System (TCS) (w/NW9)
• Vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) You need to have vehicle checked for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes , do you know what they are ? The traction control , ABS an stability control are all a function of the electronic brake control system .It also seams the power steering is controlled by the Antilock brake system. The Magnasteer® is controlled through the ABS module and varies the torque by adjusting the current flow through the actuator.
Your best place to start would be to have ABS module scanned for DTC'S . Codes would point you in right diagnostic direction .
The following components are involved in the operation of the above systems:
• Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM), The EBCM controls the system functions and detects failures.
The EBCM contains the following components:
- System Relay, The system relay is energized when the ignition is ON and no ABS DTCs are present. It supplies battery positive voltage to the solenoid valves and pump motor.
- Vent Tube, The vent tube, located in the EBCM, is an opening to the internal cavity of the EBCM. It allows ventilation of the EBCM internals.
• Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV), The BPMV contains the hydraulic valves and pump motor that are controlled electrically by the EBCM. The BPMV uses a 4 circuit configuration with a diagonal split. The BPMV directs fluid from the reservoir of the master cylinder to the left front and right rear wheels and fluid from the other reservoir to the right front and left rear wheels. The diagonal circuits are hydraulically isolated so that a leak or malfunction in one circuit will allow continued braking ability on the other.

ABS/ Traction control light/BAS & brake light on in 2008 dodge grand caravan

It is safe to drive. You need a scan tool to get a code out of it. Could be as simple as a wheel speed sensor going bad. All of these lights will work together normally. The traction control uses the ABS to gain traction, and the Brake Assist System is part of the stability control. Also uses the ABS.

Leaking brake fluid from modulator valve

The brake pressure modulator valve is the heart of the abs and traction control systems. A fault in this part would cause the abs and traction control lights to come on as well as the service stability system. If this valve fails, the wheels could possibly lock up. If you were to experience the wheels locking up, you should pump the brakes to regain control over the vehicle.

What does it mean when 1999 Ford Explorer ABS warning light on dashboard comes on?

That means that the EBTCM has detected a problem within the system. The message indicates that a malfunction exists in the stability enhancement feature.

EBTCM (Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module) is an electronic control module that controls and operates the Anti-Lock brake system, Traction Control System and Stability system. If this module detects a problem, it "asks" the cluster to inform you by displaying a warning message.

You should have your car scanned for trouble codes with a scan tool, the Tech2 scan tool is preferred because other scan tools may not communicate with the EBTCM modules.

Hope helps (remember to rate this answer).

There is a symbol on the dash showing a circle with a traingle and and exclamation mark in the centre

This is the ASC indicator. It comes on when the system is turned off. To get the light out, turn the system back on by pushing the ASC(dsc) button on the console. It's located just ahead of the shift lever. ASC is the Automatic Stability Control system.
It's a traction control light. it warns whenever the system is turned on and the car senses a loss of traction. you can deactivate the system by pushing the ASD(dsc) button and holding. this light will illuminate to say: you may lose traction.
Can sometimes be activated by faulty brake(ABS) sensors,ABS pump,While checking ensure that your brake pads aren't worn right down.
If the light still stays up get your local service dealer to scan cars computer for fault code relating to which sensor is perhaps faulty.
I hope this helps you or get back with your findings
