06 Laredo - AC/Heat & Rear Defrost Dash Lights Not Operable

A few weeks ago, the knob for the AC/Heater and rear defroster button (right side) no longer light up when I turn on the headlights on my Jeep. However, the other knobs and buttons on the left side still work normally. Is this a fuse or bulb problem that I can fix myself? I have an extended warranty, but I prefer to avoid the dealer whenever possible. Thanks for the input.

No air in front but i have air in rear is there a belt in front ??

Can you hear the front ac/heater fan? They use the same AC compressor so that should be okay. The fan switches fail quite often on those. That controls how much air is pushed by the fan for AC, heat and defrost. The switch is attached to the fan knob on the dash.

Heat blows out at floor only and ac does not come on even though light Indicates it's on. Has rear defrost and light works..Also has recirculating air button . I'm guessing the whole heating control in...

I would first remove the fuse for the heater control head for one minute and then put in and retry.
The control head could have locked up on you with a volt spike. The rear defrost switch does not go through the same circuit in the heat as the hvac controls. Could be a broken know also.
Could also be mechanical linkage on side of heater box above accelerator pedal may have broken or popped apart. or if electrical motor control may be actuator.

Heating / air conditioning control stuck to front defrost vents

There is a vacuum leak under the hood. Find the vacuum line on the passenger side where it comes through the firewall and follow it to the engine. You system needs vacuum to operate and without it the default setting is on defrost for safety reasons.

Instructions on how to turn air/heat on in 2003 mitsubishi galant

All those buttons normally are on the center concole. The heat/air knob turns to the red for heat, the more its turned in the red the hotter the heat blows. If your talking about the AC air, that should be on the knob that lets you chose the fan speed, just push it in to turn on the AC a light on the button may come on to let you know its been activated. the Rear Defrost is a single button, i think with 3 wavy lines top to bottom also in the center concole.

All the air from the heater or ac come off through the defrosters

You have a vacuum leak going into the truck. On your dash there is a knob that allows you to go from floor to dash to defrost. This knob is controlled by vacuum from the engine. The default position for the HVAC system is the defrost setting. There is a small black tube (about 1/4 inch in diameter). Pop the hood and look on the passenger side of the engine compartment near the fire wall. This is where this vacuum line usually runs through into the cab. If you can not see any line going into the cab then start tracing all the smaller lines (1/4") coming off of the engine. There will be red, green and black ones. The red and green ones are mainly for emission control. If you trace then out you will find the one with the problem. it will be broken, kinked or perhaps disconnected.
