1993 Saturn SW styles

I'm wondering about 1993 Saturn station wagons. One website describes two models, the sw1 and the sw2. Another distinguishes two fuel injection types for that year's wagons, mfi and tbi. Do they correspond somehow, ie sw1's have mfi and sw2's have tbi, or vice versa? I really just want to know the difference between SW1's and SW2's, and which type of fuel injection each has.

Removing gearbox

Here's your book info is below...
Most auto parts stores carry Haynes Manuals. You can order them from Haynes if needed. Or...often they are carried in your local library.

I have done Ford and Toyota clutches using these books. Clutch replacement is not hard, just time consuming...And easier if you have a lift.

Note: If like many vehicles, don't forget to replace the engine rear main seal while you have access with the fly wheel off.

You can call Haynes and ask specifically if the book covers the repair you are attempting. I have called them to get more specific wiring diagrams not always provided with the books. Very helpful in providing tech data... I have a Haynes manual for all my vehicles...makes maintenance and repair much easier than researching every I need to do something to my vehicles.

Best of luck finding the information you need...

My95 saturn wont move how do i remove my tranny and will a tranny from a 2000 fit

the first thing you need to do is figure out what engine you have. there are only two saturn engine blocks 91-99. one is a DOHC for you a SW2 and the other a SOHC for you a SW1. The transmissions for the two engines are different, common mistake you should not make, different final gear ratios. When you find that out call a junkyard and they have interchange numbers to tell you which year saturn transmissions will fit, probably a 95-98 will go in.

Oil leaking into sparkplug wells

oil on the spark plugs means either you have bad valve seals or bad rings. Valve seals are fairly cheap and easy to replace. Bad rings requires a full rebuild of the motor.
Also, did you over heat this vehicle?

No, the transmission can be removed without doing that. You will need to support the engine.

Transmission filter {spin on} keeps loosening off. Replaced filter twice now still keeps coming loose. Any ideas? 1993 Saturn Wagon 1.9L Engine code 7

First off an engine code 7 would mean it is a DOHC and an SW2, not SW1.

Do you have a dealer filter or aftermarket? The aftermarket have fitment issues (as well as flow issues) and it is best to use a dealer one.

Second, make sure the magnet is not on the filter area where it spins on. That can be removed during the first transmission fluid and filter change. It is only put on from the factory and removed afterward.

I'm wondering about 1993 Saturn station wagons. One website describes two models, the sw1 and the sw2. Another distinguishes two fuel injection types for that year's wagons, mfi and tbi. Do they...

mfi = multi port injection
tbi = throttle body injection
the way to tell is look on the intake plenum and see if there is a "carb" sitting there. That's tbi.
Intake plenum with 4 or more fuel lines going to each cylinder is a "MPI" (multiport) system....accordianman

95 saturn sw2

It is pretty straight forward. You need to drop the front portion of the exhaust, and remove the brace and torque converter dust shield. There is not a gasket. Just rtv. Honda bond works very well, about a 6mm bead all the way around.
