Ford Freestyle Driver door will not close/lock in cold weather

The driver side door of our 05 Ford Freestyle Ltd. will not close and lock shut. It seems as though the locking mechanism in the door is not securing itself. We park the care outside (no garage) and this only happens during the cold Ohio winters. This happened a couple of times last winter, too.

My 2005 Frod Freestyle's driver's door will not close when the weather gets cold. When you try to close the door it just bounces back like it is not connecting.

There is a recall on this exact problem. I would contact your Ford Dealer. I recently was advised of the recall when I called Ford.

The door on my 2005 Ford Freestyle will not latch what can I do

depends if its not lined up with the post upon closing or is the latch it self not latching, take screw driver and trigger the latch to lock position then use the handle to open it if that is working then check lineup on the post and see if the door hinges are worn allowing the door to drop if so replace the hinge pins.

Why does rear passenger side door of 2000 Toyota Avalon occasionally not lock securely in freezing weather?

The actuator/latch is bad. Basically a spring in it is not tight enough to close it.

I have a 2005 ford freestyle the ac is fully charged the rear works great the front passenger side is ok but the drivers side is warm about 20 degrees difference between the drivers side an passenger

there is a door that directs cold or hot air behind the dashboard in order to make the passenger's side colder or hotter relative to the driver's side.
The a/c door servo may be bad, or the temperature settings for each zone are not balanced.

We live in a cold state (MN) and this year though it hasn't been incredibly cold our 2000 Kia Sephia constantly freezes shut. The power door lock on the driver side won't move from the inside or the...

part of the problem with being in such a cold place is even tho its so cold there is still moisture in the air. if you door wont close or open, you need to check the latch out and make sure its not just bent. as for not being able to unlock you door. the latching system is connected to the lock and handle. if the latch wont move don't use wd-40 that will make it worse. you need to pull open the door panel and get it greased with a grease gun. wd-40 will not keep the parts moving in that kind of cold. if latch wont reset
when you get it open, it wont close. just grease it up. oh it would help if you get water guard for your windows. protect you parts from freezing. take care.

My windstar vans side door on the driver side is stuck in teh lock position. the door is not shut all the way but I can't unlock it. I've tried to pull the lock up but it won't budge. please help

Try to close the door fully by pushing it forward (may require several hands pushing at once) which may reset the lock and latch. If it closes, but still doesn't release the lock, the interior panel must be removed to access the lock and latch directly.
