I have a 2001 Saturn L300 with about 90k miles on it. At first I was having issues starting the car. The engine would crank but not turn over and all of the other electrical components worked just fine. I noticed my security light was flashing so I read up and found the 30 min relearn process. After doing the restart process the car started fine but roughly 2 hours later the car wouldn't start again. I again did the password reset and the car started and ran for about 4 days. I tried to start the car today and once again it won't start and the security light is on. What could be causing this issue? Thank you for any comments you may have.
I had the problem and when i took it in they wanted a ridiculous amount of money to fix it.. It is the security system failing. i did a ton of research and found a module that u can install yourself that will bypass it and allow the car to start every time.. i did mine like 5 years ago and i havent had an issue since.. you car is on the list year make and model for having this problem i guess its really common in GM vehicles .. Check out this website they have great customer service and if for some reason it does not work they will refund you 100% of your money!! I hope this helps ya i know how frustrating it is.

I had the same problem in a 1997 SC2. Turns out that finicky/broken door lock/unlock switches were causing an intermittent short.
I removed the 20A fuses to these locks in the switch panel under the radio. Problem fixed.
