We have a 2003 Beetle 1.8L Turbo. We cant find the block heater plug. Any suggestions?

    Thanks Jay. I've looked all over but there's nothing. We did speak to someone a few months ago with the similar year and make and they said it was under his car at the bottom and was a real pain to find. Have you heard of this location before? It's tough to crawl under so I'm wondering if anyone had heard of this and where underneath it may be? Is it possible it doesn't have one?

Your block heater cord should be in the very front, somewhere in the area behind your bumper/grille area. Also check under the hood on both sides, it will be the only 3 wire grounded cord in there. It may be coiled up also, so look for a coiled up unpluged cord too.

How do i change the thermostat in a 2003 beetle but?
Looking at the motor straight on with the top engine cover removed there's a long tube sticking out of the block right in front of you, just behind the belt area. The tube connects to a radiator hose at one end, and the engine block at the other. Remove the flange from the block and the little bugger is hidden under here

vw uses coil on plugs so each plug has a coil under engine cover on top of valve cover check fuses first for your other problem

Hey steve. Your block heater cord should be in the very front, somewhere in the area behind your bumper/grille area. Also check under the hood on both sides, it will be the only 3 wire grounded cord in there. It may be coiled up also, so look for a coiled up unpluged cord too.
